ZMF Vérité - Open-Back Dynamic Headphone - Official Thread

Looks like you have it right to me, top and bottom both looked matched.

Yea measure the thickness.

Thanks for all the comment. Looking at the measurements 3 of pads measure very similarly but 1 of them is noticeably smaller and thinner. I believe the verite pads are thinner than the universe pads but has anyone encounter a case where the size and thickness of your verite pads are almost the same as your universe pads?

That would be my guess as well and the measurements seems to reflect that. My only concern is 1 having one side of the verite pads measuring almost the same as the universe pads in terms of size, thickness and depth of the ear cups.

As a side note the top pair do sound darker than the bottom pair.

So curious how these would pair with the Asgard 3 and Modi Multibit here. But before getting new cans, Bifrost 2 comes first. Right now I’m really happy with the Atticus.

@Resolve

Did you determine which Be2 pads you like, have you tried any others since your last post?

I’m currently using the Suede Be2 pads. I’m working on a video on the difference the various pads make. I don’t have all of them but I have 5 different types at the moment. I’m realizing as well though that so much of the sound changes when using a tube amp. To the point where it really impacts the pad preference and even whether or not I’d bother with EQ.

Great, I look forward to the video.

I really enjoy the Verite Pads, but love the added warmth of the Uni Pads.

I just placed an order for all 3 sets of Be2 pads, when in doubt just buy them all right?

Anyone tried the AEOLUS lately?

This is bad, before I know it, ill be buying different wood versions of the same headphone…

You have to admit its a great business model.

I love the comfort of the Uni Perf Suedes. But off SS I’m finding they dull it all a touch too much. The Uni Perf Leather is a better overall sound.

Do your ears touch the foam on the Verite pads? And if YES, do they on the Be2 pads?

And do you have any perf hybrids? Think they closer in sound to full Suedes or full leathers?

I am getting all 3 sets of Be2 pads, ill let you know my subjective thoughts.

I also think the suede pads on the open back models dulls the sound a little to much to liking.

However on my VC its very nice.

Excellent.

I want some Hybrid, but unsure on BE2 or Universe.

Keen to hear what you think.

Hi- What is your tube amp, The Pendant?

Just curious what you mean by this exactly. Is it that the frequency response in the higher, lower or middle registers are attenuated? Are the transients slower or is it something else?

I think it slightly boosts the lower frequencies and lowers the higher frequencies.

@Torq graph is a perfect example. This is on the closed back V.

Thanks. The reason I asked is that I think @Resolve has written that the Universe Suede (perforated) was more enjoyable to him (compared to leather) as they have a brighter tonality. I think he also measured them to be brighter than the Verite pads (perforated) on the VO.

It’s interesting how people hear things differently.

I would expect the Suede perforated to due that, thats why I got the Be2 suede’s.

I was more talking about the non-perforated pads, sorry should have been more clear.

I have the Uni suede’s and the Auteur suede’s currently/

I’m curious as to the differences you hear between the Universe and Auteur pads (I just ordered a pair each).

Thanks.

Sorry, I am a bit confused. Are you using non perforated pads on the VO?

Again, sorry yes, I tried both sets on my Auteurs and Verites.

Hi Everyone. I’ve been lurking to your testimonies for so long. Your enthusiasm was so communicative that I just jumped the fence for a Vérité OB + Michanikos cable + Suede extra earpads purchased to ZMF’s german dealer. This may affect my bank credit since Europe prices are higher than in the USA but I have never been so happy to do so and I should say to you all a very big thank you  Can’t wait to try these cans!
