Hi, I’m a longtime ”lurker” and avid musicfan. I very much appreciate learning more here about headphones in general and, especially, more about the VO before becoming a proud owner. Thank you!

My setup
Lovely, congrats! Is that the ironwood?
I just got notified that my VO has shipped. I’m a little confused, because it’s only been about 3 weeks since I ordered it, and I only received notification that my wood had been selected last week. Now it jumped straight to shipped, so I’m not sure how well their new system is working, but hey - I’m not complaining about a 3 week delivery time.
I emailed Zach about their wait times, since I ordered a VO last week. He said it’s 6-12 weeks but they try to finish it earlier. 3 weeks is a lot early in that sense, congrats though Let us know how you like it!
Thank you! It’s actually silkwood, but the morninglight made it look a little different.
Maybe someone bailed on an order? Or maybe that is what they can now achieve or maybe their total order numbers are down? 3 weeks is the fastest turnaround I have come across in quite a while.
Better to “underpromise and overdeliver,” than the other way around…
Technically it hasn’t even been 3 weeks yet. Tuesday will be three weeks and I’m scheduled to receive it on Wednesday according to FedEx. 🤷🏻 Guess I just got lucky.
Was it the stock wood?
No, Desert Ironwood 20char
I knew they were trying for a quick turnaround with their stock woods. If they can do it with the LTD woods that’s even better.
Yeah, 3 months is pretty good for…
Wait. Weeks?
Ok then. Congrats!
Either that or it’s a glitch in the notification system. I guess we’ll see on Wednesday.
I received these beauties from @Rhodey this week. First and foremost, Rhodey was an amazing seller. Extremely professional, set perfect expectations and shipped immediately. .
First impressions have been spectacular. I’ll be running all the tests this weekend and will post some perspectives soon. For future context, my main headphones have been my Focal Stellias running from Roon → Hugo 2. I’m hoping these will be the perfect “open” counterpart to those.
So excited to be part of this community. Thanks for all the posts here. They’ve been monumental in helping me make the decision to get these.
Thanks for the kind words!
I’m glad you’re enjoying them. They’re a good listen for sure. I had the Stellia too and they were fun to own together. Throw a little bit brighter headphone in the mix and you have an excellent trio.
Enjoy!
Just posting my latest EQ profile for the Verite Open with BE2 Suede pads:
One thing I hadn’t accounted for was the clamp pressure when actually worn on the head. It can vary a bit if people bend the headband inwards, resulting in some tuning differences that aren’t totally captured by on-rig measurements. So this is for anyone who wears it with a bit less clamp force (also super comfy). I think this is what I’m settled on for now, really loving the way this sounds.
Edit: added a second one
^the above is more of a medium clamp.
Just want to say a big thank you for your great work and fantastic contribution to the community. It was your excellent review of the VO that made me purchase them .
Today a different setup. The Feliks-Audio ”Echo” (with upgraded tubes) is amazing with the VO:
A favorite !
EQing a ZMF…blasphemy! Shame on you @Resolve, I hope you think about what you’ve done wrong.
Thank you for sharing tho, haha!
These pads are supposed to make them sound the most “neutral” right?
I don’t know about more ‘neutral’, I kinda don’t think that’s the case. The Verite Open is definitely more ‘flavor’ oriented, and I think you can change that flavor depending on the pads. But, there may be reasons to prefer one pad or another, so it’s worth having an EQ for it if you DO want a more ‘neutral’ presentation. Honestly, I know there are a lot of “no eq” fans of ZMF stuff, but all I can say to that is… try it. See what you think. EQ is free.
