Yes, Tom from Dunu also mentioned that to me as well. He said he really likes the 17th Anniv model and thinks I’d like it a lot too. Too bad they don’t really make it anymore.

So it would have been Tom from DUNU to as well - mentioned his personal favorite being the 17th but the crowd favorite being the DK-3001 Pro. He seemed like he really knew his stuff and great to talk to.
Yes, Tom has been around for a while in the community and has posted reviews on headfi over the years before he started at Dunu last year. Also understands the technical aspects well too. Guess he liked Dunu too much and decided to join them 
The DD bass on the 2001 is enjoyable. Really good performance and packaging for a $500 (AUD) IEM.

I finally settled into my new home studio. I actually started this build in December but it took some extra time to get it all sorted out.
I built the absorption panels myself using a recipe from an engineering friend. All four walls are well covered. I’m still futzing with measurements and configuration on the Genelecs, (small)subwoofer placement and some additional bass treatments in the lower corners. It’s sounding great, though. The imaging in here is INSANE with the smaller Genelecs in nearfield. I did just get rid of my THX 887 as I felt that the RME headphone out was very good for work, and I have the Mapletree for pleasure listening. The Grado-y looking phones in the wide shot are custom builds I did based on the Elleven Acoustica R1 drivers.

Just upgraded my DAC from the Chord Qutest to the Chord Hugo TT2 and whoa! It’s more than double the price, but man, is there a remarkable difference. The sheer clarity, the ease at separating instruments and individual notes even in chords, and the lifelike sound in everything. It’s like watching a true 4K footage for the first time after only watching HD.
Even with my Cayin HA-300 tube amp and Audeze LCD-3, the difference is immediately noticeable and I’m hearing notes and even whole instruments that I haven’t heard before!!

Hi guys. Well with the recent theft of some of my gear I have had to replace some of it and along the way I have also added a new Dap to my collection.
The Dap is the Cayiin N6ii which I am enjoying tremendously. Its built like a tank and the sound is captivating. I purchased it with the A01 module which has the AKM AK4497 beating at its heart. I am finding it surprisingly detailed moreso than my XDP-300R Dap which sports dual Sabre ES9018K2M DAC chips.
Complimenting my new Dap are my favourite iems the 64 Audio U18t’s. Aswell as my new Dap I have had to replace my Focal Clears and my HD800. I couldn’t find a new HD800 so ended up getting the HD800s. You can also see I am sure my new set of Focal Clears too. Boy is it good to have these back in my collection. I’ve really missed them.
Sorry for the very poor photography skills. But, well… I don’t possess any. Big thank you to a certain person for all the help too, they know who they are and I will say no more.

Very nice setup, congrats on your new DAC! Interesting thoughts on the Chord DAC, I have tried a few DACS including Chords (Not Hugo’s line) but I have yet to find noticeable differences.

It may all be down to the implementation of both the Amp and Dac as a whole unit. Who knows. But I have always thought I could discern small differences between my Daps and Amps/Dacs. This could be all in my head of course. But I don’t preach to anyone or try influence anybody either way. In the end you hear what you hear and along as you enjoy it who cares in the end.
Some people, well probably most of the non-audio general public will think we are crazy for spending what we do on our passion. It’s all relative I suppose.

Got you, Yea I agree, I can see it in DAC/AMP combos and as well as DAPS, I just haven’t notice much on just DACS my self, I think also that synergy plays in to it so it does make a difference on that front.

Many hobbies look insanely expensive to outsiders and beginners.
Audio is small beans relative to Boy’s Toys like sports cars, boats, and airplanes. Those also involve high maintenance, insurance, storage, and depreciation costs. An ordinary two-week international vacation for two can easily cost $10K. First-world problems indeed.
Quality audio gear can be owned for little-to-no-cost if one buys at the right price (e.g., used), and sells unwanted items to fund new purchases.
