How is that nimbus with the 1266’s? Did you compare to any other amps?

Which model of Adam Audio speakers? I’ve been looking at those and would love to know their size for relation to the other gear on your desk. Thanks.

Those are Adam T5V. I didn’t go higher up in their range yet since I only really use them for videos etc. For music listening I’m mostly using my headphones.

Look at this mess. I’ve got some tidying up to do…

Thank you. I listen to music and I currently use a pair of Apple HomePod Minis, but I know I can do better than that. My headphone system is not at my desk.

The dogs face says “don’t look at me, I’m not tidying it up”

I did not compare it to any other amps. At the time I did a lot of reading and researching of forums etc and I plumped for the Niimbus after taking it on trial.
For me it is a tremenous pairing and I am not one for changing my gear a lot so it will be with me for a long time

Primary headphones - Utopia OG, 1266 TC, Atrium, VC

Current primary chain - Qobuz → Roon → iFi Zen Streamer (Coax BNC) → Holo May KTE → EC Studio B (Elrog 300B Mo, NOS metal base Mullard GZ 34, NOS Tung Sol 2C51) → CFA3 (all Wired world silver RCA)

May → CFA3 (nordost blue heaven XLR)

Currently running May from Zen streamer with Roon’s upsampling (2x,4x) because my PC is in a different room but will try HQP next year once I move.

Mostly using CFA3 for 1266 and it sounds pretty kickass , especially with Studio B as preamp. Rest of the headphones sound great out of Studio B directly. Pretty happy with this setup

How are the Cayin and the Holo working together, is it a good match?

I have the Holo Spring 3 and I am really considering getting the Cayin HA MKII. I have another Cayin tube (CA-55a) amp and it is so great for such a low price.

Do you mean the Cayin HA-1A MKII or the HA-3A? I own both but for the Spring 3 I would mostly recommend the HA-3A with upgraded tubes to be able to appreciate what the Spring 3 can do. I’d only choose the HA-1A MKII if you have some very hard to drive planars (my Arya V2 sounded beautiful with it). Otherwise the HA-3A would be my pick. Better technicalities, resolution, lower noise floor, better design (imo) etc… Less power hungry planars like my D8000 sound so much better on the HA-3A compared to the HA-1A MKII. If you have an further questions, just let me know.

I was actually thinking of the HA-300B MKII, but I can see it was the HA-3A you have pictured. I just got so exited than someone here had gotten the 300B MKII :joy:
Thanks for the remarks, it is good to know your insights and I guess the 3A is more similar to the 300B MKII, so you got me thinking.
But I really like the Cayin tube sound, so nice to hear from another Cayin owner!

I just got my HA-3A tonight. This amp does not get enough attention! Granted I am only into it for a few hours, but this thing is phenomenal!! I absolutely love it. Bass, stage, air, dynamics, it’s all there. Plus it’s gorgeous to look at and built like a tank.

So far I’ve briefly had the LCD-x('22), Aeolus, and Clears plugged in; even the HE6seV2’s-which initially sounded just fine, I was expecting a desktop crash into a singularity and potential neighborhood destruction.

The ability to switch impedance is epic when you’ve got too many headphones you like. This is a great partner amp to my FA10 and may push my Hagerman Tuba into another room. So far I simply couldn’t be more pleased!!

Finally got a chance to sort my setup today and get the Envy situated. Good god, I love this amp!!! Really feel like I’m getting the most out of my Susvara now.

Rearranged everything and removed three amps (I think I will be letting them go when I get time to take pics and post em’) the THX887, Violectric V280 and Xduuo TA-20.

Just need to recoup from my spending spree and I’ll add the May next year. I think then I should be content…ish  I’ll be all set, apart from some cable upgrades, a nucleus, maybe a couple more cans, power conditioner….yeah it’ll never end haha!!
