Headphones Battlestations

I give tubes about 40 hours to burn in. The majority of any changes to sound happens within that timeframe I’ve found. There have been a few oddball exceptions, but a few days is generally enough.

Looks like a Schiit Eitr. Probably what is connected to the phone.

Thanks! This was all carefully planned out, and I could not be happier with how it all matches.

The little box is the Schiit Eitr (Gen 5 usb). My Gungnir is the older version with an older usb implementation, so the Eitr turns it into the Gen 5 and makes my ipad and ipod touch into music servers, that hook up with a digital coax. This is not ideal, but works for now. I plan to upgrade to the Unison usb eventually, and will get rid of the Eitr.

I see. This is huge!

Myself just learned how conveniant it is to connect a mobile or tablet to the DAC instead of the PC or Laptop.

So you use ROON, I suppose?

I actually just use Quboz HiRez straight from my ipod and ipad into a powered usb hub, then into the Eitr, which then connects to my Gungnir with a digital coax. I meant to add, I don’t have a PC, so dont use Roon.

some weeks ago, ordered this little stand for my ifi xDSD wired to phone or tablet at the office and use now another one at home - holds also 10inch tablet

It stands sturdy on the sofa armrest with one of my Android phones or the tablet, running usb audio player pro app > ifi OTG cable > USB > RME ADI 2 DAC fs > THX AAA 789 > Focal Elegia balanced

So I have all in reach and in perfect sight.
the phone is not laying flat pointing away from me

Would not be surprised, if there are better designs with nice wood

For me it was a huge win in ergonomics.
So I felt like sharing this 5 bucks thing

I like it! I have a similar setup with my iPad, which I normally use. The case has a built in stand.

Hey Wesley, could you share a link to the case with the build in stand for the ipad?

This is the exact one I have. My iPad mini, is not the latest version, but still works great.

ahh I saw these by logitech! they are well build and I like the blue/red colours!!

my wife has a maybe 3 year old 10inch iPad with a third party cheapo case, which works the same

my 4 year old 10 inch Android has a similar case by Samsung - not worth it … to thin maybe and worn off over the years in hardcore heavy use  … it won´t keep the tablet in position

what I like with the ipads - the connection is at the side in horizontal position
with the Android one I use, the connection is at the bottom and I have to turn it upside down in it´s case stand - not ideal for the cabel´s and the micro usb ports longevity.
So I prefer to use my above showed third party metal stand. In it the OTG cable has enough room and get´s not as hard bended.

Nice! This logitech case is built like a tank. I have had it for years, and it still looks and works like new.

Looks good. The amp/dac layout seems to optimize space. :+1:t4:

How do you like the curved monitor!?

Love it! I’m actually looking at different desks as the one I have doesn’t accommodate a second monitor so well… I want a vertical monitor off to the side

It looks great!

Check out the powered stand ups from upliftdesk they usually have good sales and I have loved mine.

You could also look into those monitor clamping arms. That might be a solution.
