Those seem designed to eliminate hiss on head gear which is more sensitive compared to the output of the amplifier. Like a CFA Andromeda.
Iām always surprised at how sweet the Porta Pro can sound if not driven past its limits. At work, attached the Apple dongle - USB-3 version and plugged into my iPad , listening to Apple Classical. Some Bach Cello and guitar. Just lovely.
