Welcome to all new members. Enjoy.

Thanks all. Relatively new to the hobby but enjoy the subjective and objective side of things. Currently happy with my Schiit but looking at an upgrade to the headphones and this forum has lots of great information to assist.

Greetings everyone

It’s nice to see a few familiar faces already here. And it looks like unpopular opinions are welcomed as long as they are conveyed in a polite and friendly manner - always a good sign! I’m looking forward to many long conversations and helpful suggestions.

Cheers!

PS - EQ is evil, but you’re allowed to be a little evil if you want to :smirk:

Hi thanks for the invite. I posted last night to @Precogvision but of course introductions should come first.

I am a noob to the hobby (~6 months-but starting to get serious)

I started with a Sony WH1000-xm4 for work and watching Joshua Velour intro to audiophiles vids
Have appreciated the fine and detailed gear reviews here @ Headphones.com (especially videos) as well as some by DNS Zeos Pantera, Chuckolatte and a few others on YouTube. I am a regular poster on Head-Fi Forum since July.

my current set up
At work
IFi Zen DAC v2 to Zen Can with either balanced 4.4s inter-connectors between or a Douk Audio P2 tube amp sandwiched between (the latter with 3 tone controls- enjoy that combo a lot).
At home
Roon using a MacBook —>Sonore Microrendu->IFi micro iDSD
Will be adding a Bluesound Node to that in days ahead.

Recently added Hiby R8 as a portable DAP and loving that

Full size cans are 6XXs and Aryas

IEMS are Ikko OH10 and Final A4000s and Apple earbuds for working out - had to mention the last pair as they were here before all the rest and they are still here

travel dac/amp is a Hidizs DH80s Dac/amp to use with iPhone when I am on tbe road i t along the Sony’s as they pack up nicely in an after- market hardback zip-case

Home network is Google Fiber 1GB Wifi MESH network that we hardwire for Roon

current issues

  1. Looking for a TOTL(ish) IEM- reading lots and top consideration is the Thieaudio Monarch Mk2 vs Kinera Nanna
  1. figuring out how best to rip music from Vinyl -have a sizeable collection that are not readily available online

Hi! Just wanted to introduce myself since I have actually asked some questions already in a couple of other threads and got some great answers.
Totally new and just jumping into getting audiophile equipment, mostly because I was lucky enough to purchase a set of the new ZMF VC’s Epoxy Resin Stabilized, and develop my set up from there.

That is a good question. You should AVOID the horrible USB turntables in the under $200 range. They are convenient. And possibly an option if you never wish to listen to your vinyl again…

There are a few DACs that have ADC capability. RME has, I think a high quality 2 channel capability in the RME ADI-2 Pro. In the past, I had used a computer soundcard with OK results. But I’m sure I’d be more critical of that now.

I would expect @Torq to have several solutions.
