Finally got around to listening to this. Thank you.
(I was this many years old when I learned likes are finite on this platform)
I’m a huge Bond movie fan and so the music has (almost) always appealed to me as well. After watching Live and Let Die recently I developed a craving to hear the theme song again. I haven’t listened to this track in years - well before I started getting into headphones. DAMN! I am pleasantly shocked by how good this sounds for an older recording.
McCartney really nailed this one with the plenty of dynamics, changing musical styles and tempo, and the perfect blend of rock with classic instruments. Not to mention lyrics that are meaningful both within and outside of the context of the movie. Dare I say this is prog rock? Who cares as it is awesome regardless of how you classify it.
Swapping a faucet wound up in three trips to the Home Depot, and a new valve from the wall. So, headphones and tunes and an aching back.
Going back to 1986 from Sydney-based rockers Hoodoo Gurus - Mars Needs Guitars , on Qobuz
Dion and Friends - some nice toe tapping blues.
Came across this band for the first time after following a rabbit trail of links from Spotify. Gypsy Rock? First I’d heard of it! Sometimes it’s fun to change things up try out some new genres
Listening to Irresistible Bliss from Soul Coughing, this track is my favorite: Lazybones - YouTube
For indie music lovers, Paper Moon Records Radio is a Spotify playlist that I update every Tuesday. (I run Paper Moon Records together with my partner).

That’s an intoxicating group of powerful but atmospheric female singers (starting with Lana Del Rey). I’m not even listening to the music and it sends shivers down my spine.
I wish Fever Ray would publish more music. Only 2 albums since 2009.
Can You Stand The Heat by Ana Popovic
I’m sitting on the beach listening to Latin jazz, Carribean and reggae covers of various songs playing through tinny speakers. The infuriating thing is that they’re sometimes so different from the original, or the volume is so low that I can’t hear the lyrics, that I’m trying to play “name that song” instead of relaxing. For instance it took me 5 minutes to realize I was just listening to a Calypso version of Wish You Were Here.
