@PaisleyUnderground - Also - yeah love getting CDs from the local library! I haven’t done that since Covid.
OK, my mistake, I thought you meant both bands had the same lead singers. Yes, I missed the fact that Dan Boeckner was on that one track.
Boekner was also in Handsome Furs and Divine Fits, both good bands. Canadians are pretty hard-working.
This is a really interesting baroque pop concept album by the Bee Gees, released in 1969. I like the deluxe edition CD box because it comes with a mono and stereo version of the album. I’m quite a big fan of mono albums from this era, but I think Odessa is glorious in stereo. The only issue is that the stereo is too wide for my taste, so the slightly smaller stage of the Stellia has an advantage over the Verite here (but not claustrophobic @Dynamic).
For people who only know the Bee Gees by their disco songs, this is will be a revelation.
Post post minimalism.
So, I want to revise that a bit. I have now tried sony xm4, airpods max, lcd-xc, dt 177x, mobius, drop ether cx. The only one that feels claustrophobic quickly is the sony xm4. The mobius will if I listen for long periods. I think it is probably a highly overblown concern at this point.
The stellia is getting more and more tempting. However, ZMF just announced another batch of stabilized? …
Ok, you know your going down a weird rabbit hole in a long listening session when you end up on Christmas songs in late April… but that’s where I ended up today. Anyway, the vocals on this song are just excellent and its a different and pretty awesome take on this song!
…and that song lead me to this. Not up to the classic Ella Fitzgerald from
“Clap Hands Here Comes Charlie” but this is pretty cool…
Always a good listen. well produced as always
An incredible 30 minute jam live recording, and another one of my favorites with a killer improvised guitar solo.
Sonnet Hermes > Sonnet Morpheus > Rogue RH-5 w/ Raytheon 7730 Long Plate Square Getters > Verite C = There
Peter Green was the best.
Yeah this is really cool. There’s a trailer and a few tracks on YouTube like the “Green Manalishi” from the performance. Look forward to seeing the whole show. Confession… for the longest time I thought “green manalishi” was a Judas Priest song
