RNHP [& Fidelice] Headphone Amplifier

I’ve been impressed with the original RHNP Headphone Amp for quite some time now actually and what I’ve started to appreciate about it is a slight weight and immediacy it brings while still being quite clean.

Specs for the Fidelice unit don’t seem to be any different, I may be wrong but it would appear possibly an additional or updated finish has been added and it may be tuned more specifically to be fed/matched with the new Fidelice Dac. Either way let’s have a thread for both the RNHP Headphone Amps!

I received my Rupert Neve Designs RNHP back in February/March and I was so impressed by it.

Through circumstances I ended up with two units, one in my leisure listening area, and one at my computer. After finding out of the Fidelice announcement, I was still within my return window and sent the second unit back.
The RNDAC is out of reach ($4995), though if I could I’d pick one up in a heartbeat. I’m undecided on whether or not to purchase the Fidelice RNHP ($1200). If it does indeed have the same specs as the Rupert Neve Designs RNHP (Pro model), I couldn’t justify paying more than double for a re-cased unit (as pretty as it is).
The SPL Phonitor XE ($1999) https://www.headphones.com/products/spl-phonitor-xe-headphone-amplifier is looking to be a more viable option.

Well I’m only going by the specs I saw on the website, hopefully either an official update will come out or a review!

I received this amp from a friend and was very impressed with its performance across several headphones.

ASR did a review on this amp and it was not that great…low power, distortion etc…and its price for low power…

None of this bothers me much anymore, its how does it work here with my stuff!

Having lots of amp come and go, I liked this amp enough to actually buy one! Its that good to me.

Its a very organic amp, ie neutral and much like a refence amp…no coloration added…very clean.

I am glad they are still making this 70’s retro looking amp…and it has this really awesome RED volume knob, sweet. IMO the cost of the newer one with the same basic specs isnt worth going there…unless I am missing something in the specs.

Thanks to Jeremy and Chris!

Yeah I miss mine at times. I wrapped mine and added the Legos too. @Andrew_Davis gave me the Lego idea. That light is definitely bright. Especially in a darker room.

Damn, that looks mean, in a favorable way.

EMPYS and RHNP are a solid 10.

Absolute stunning with all kinds of music…lately I was listening to the soundtrack from Passenger 57 and the bass slam was stunning as was the overall sound…so real and lifelike…awesome recording that comes across with the simple amp so very well…

My hats off to Rupert N and what this simple device does…and does so very well…
(oh and the EMPYS are a 10/10 as well in this case).

WIth this pairing its all about the music…
