Completely agree, those weeping angels were absolutely terrifying in Blink, and they just didn’t have the same impact when they were brought back in later episodes.

Not really alien, but I’d say the necromancers in Raised By Wolves (HBO) are almost as terrifying as weeping angels.

Anyone familiar with the Vang trilogy by Christopher Rowley? Very creepy.
And if there were actually Kryptonians they would scare the crap out of me!

@pennstac - when I was a kid, seeing the plant at the beginning of the '78 Invasion of the Body Snatchers (on tv) was creepy enough for me. I was also terrified by a scene in The Andromaeda Strain (also seen on tv) of the astronauts on the moon grabbing a baby - only later did I realize those were scientists wearing hazmat suits in a desert town finding a baby as a survivor (from alien infection) that they were saving.

At my age, I get drowsy anytime I set in my Recliner.

While this is off-topic, but perhaps still close to your heart, are there any updates regarding your plans
to “sail away”?

We’ve been making multi-week excursions and mini-tours as various situations have allowed. I only came back home this week since my SR-X9000 were being delivered.

Those excursions will just keep getting longer as the global situation changes, which is happening quite rapidly (though it remains to be see how stable those shifts are), until such point as it’s possible to get back to something resembling the original plan.

Beyond that, it wasn’t my intention to get back into any real degree of online participation … just to provide an update of sorts for those waiting on the SR-X9000 … to which I’ll add that I think they were worth the wait, even if they’re really an excellent complement to the CRBN rather than a replacement for them (but that was my assumption as to what they’d be anyway).

Intentional or not, it’s always great to read you.

No box because I purchased it locally last weekend, but I finally found a 14-24 in the right condition at the right price. Hopefully we get a nice sunset tonight.

Enjoy, my 14- 24 stays on my D850 most of the time.

Thank you!

I’ve been using the earlier AF 20-35 f2.8 D and found that it often wasn’t quite wide enough for some of my subjects. I prefer 50mm over 35mm so I don’t mind carrying a second lens and giving up a little reach.

If a D860/900 is announced using the D6’s AF module, I’ll probably trade in the D800 and D4 towards it. Not because I need it, but because it’ll probably be the last pro-level, non-gripped DSLR Nikon releases.

Nice lens, I still have an old 35-70 AF 2.8D , a sharp lens that I use every once in a while for walking around. I’ve been interested in the Z7II in my move to mirror. which means I will have to unload some lens, AFS 300 2.8 D, AF 80-200 pushpull 2.8D.

Thanks! I really enjoy using the AF-D Big Three Dragons with my F4. I don’t plan on getting rid of them because there’s no motor inside to break.

AFS 300 2.8 D

If it’s the AF-S version, you should be able to use this lens with the Z7ii if you also use the FTZ adapter. If Nikon released an adapter with a motor in it akin to Sony’s latest, I’d seriously consider one of the Z-cameras as I have quite a few of the hammer-finish AF-D lenses.

Anyone combine cameras with another off topic activity?

When Fuji released their 200mm f/2, I told our local rep that they should make thermoses that look like it. The tripod foot would make a great carry handle.

Oh yes. A pretty tack sharp lens. I also like to use it with a 1.4 converter.
