You guys are way too on topic for this thread.

Just to keep us on-topic-off-topic, here are a couple pics from my “once in a lifetime” forest fire experience.

The first one is the main street in my small town during the worst of the fires. Before we evacuated something like 10% of the people in my town were firefighters sleeping in the hotels or shopping and eating on their off shifts.

I took the pic below yesterday at 3:00 pm (sunset is 7:30). Smoke and fire related air nastiness has covered the whole SF Bay Area. The news is calling it a “nuclear winter,” but I haven’t seen any zombies yet so I think we’re ok.

Oh man, that is zombie-apocalypse stuff.

Glad you made it through intact.

Seeing a sky like that during the day is bad enough, I can remember seeing a sky like that at midnight due to a forest / grass fire in Oklahoma. It got within a couple of miles of our house before it was extinguished.

Last time I saw it that bad in Cali was end of August 2013 when my dad passed away… not fun…

Our skies were a little discolored the last couple of days down here in Los Angeles, but no where near as bad.

I hope you and your family are well. :pray:t4:

Here are some pics of our local volunteer residents fighting the Creek Fire in CA… We are 12 miles from the perimeter and I live 40 feet from the edge of the evacuation warning area… AQI was atrocious this morning and peaked at over 600.

You’re in my area! I woke up yesterday literally in a panic. Today’s a notch better I suppose. Stay safe!

These are among the most extraordinary photos of the fires I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe everyone.

In a surprise twist, one of the teams won. The other lost.

On one play, a running back ran with the ball.

Andy Reed was wearing a mask.

His mask was the comedic relief. By the end of the game it looked like he was coaching from inside a greenhouse.

Actually, I thought the lower half of his mask was fogged to keep his lips from being read.

There is more than one way to make one’s ears ring:

My mother used to make my ears ring just with an open palm

I was in a catholic kindergarden - my strong neck developed back then

Is that a strong neck or a stiff neck?
