The USB-C version does so I can’t imagine the Apple one not doing so.

Edit to clarify: the USB-C version of the Apple dongle

I can imagine the Apple retail store staff being wrong.

So wrong.

Wrong all the time.

But these are people who drink at the bar of geniuses. And they pointed to a box of wired earbuds and said, “I know it works with these”

I could buy a bar.

Get a liquor license.

And hang a side outside that said “good looking bar”

It would not make me good looking.

I was just thinking, it’d be nice to see “professional” reviewers post hearing test results so that the viewer/reader had a baseline metric to go along with their impressions/review.

What do you guys think? I know we all hear differently and I figured that this would better help us understand what the reviewer was actually hearing.

Edit: Tyll was one of the most respected reviewers, and he stepped down from reviewing due to age-related hearing loss. That, along with the varying opinions had me think of this.

I agree and believe the process must go beyond that. I’ve been working on a write-up of what it would take for perceptual reliability and sensitivity comparisons. The need goes beyond conventional hearing and audio charts, but the science and methods are fully known. The audio community just hasn’t applied them in a broad or consistent fashion.

I keep getting pulled away by other essential needs, and hope to finish it soon.

That sounds awesome. It’d be a great metric to add to impressions.

Looking forward to it. :+1:t4:

@Earmuffs , that sweater is awesome. I just wish I’d read your post 10 hours ago, because it would have answered the question “what the hell is Earmuff’s new picture?” that I’ve been asking myself all day.

Lol! It’s a really cool company that does limited drops of movie related merch. They do 72 hour pre order windows and after that it’s gone. Some of the designs are lame but every once and awhile they put out a banger.

I just got the return box for my iPhone 6 trade-in. I gently wiped it clean and slid it into the pocket in the mini-UPS casket box. Apple to Apple, dust to dust.

On a happier note, I tried riding a bicycle today. Went to Martin’s Bike Shop, a 4 generation family owned shop in the heart of PA Dutch country. Probably one of the best places to have a bike shop if you think about it. :phone: . My old Nishiki Olympic 12 is no longer suitable for a relatively sedentary 67 (this month) year old and would take lots of work to swap out drop handlebars and death-trap pedals.

So I started thinking electric, and test rode one of these:

Although I’ve been off a bicycle for at least 3 maybe 4 years, it was great after a few minutes, and even with the unfamiliarity of new stuff, it felt good. I’m probably going to go for it.

:phone: There are dangers in riding in PA Dutch country, especially if you are Amish. There is a high-schooler tradition known as “Dunkelbopping” in which a boxing glove is attached to a broomstick. Kids who recently got their drivers licenses, all the way to actual high school seniors take out along the roads with friends in the passenger seat or back seat keeping the bopper at the ready. When you pass some Amish cycling to work, the bopper is thrust out and points are gained by knocking over the plain folk. Officially this practice is frowned upon. I personally, cannot attest to having witnessed Dunkelbopping, but the folklore is rampant.

That’s awesome!

Too bad about the Nishiki, they made some great frames. I turned 43 last month, but I can relate to the difficulty in riding a road bike (my spine is non-compliant).

I’m glad you had fun on the e-bike. Those look like a great way to get back onto two wheels.

I think I’d donate the Nishiki to anyone who wants to pick it up. It would be possible to fix it to rideable for a reasonable amount, it’s reconfiguring it that would add $$. It needs new pedals. Probably could replace cables. Gears are worn but probably have a few more seasons in them. Had some quality components, but you could easily blow $300-350 on new pieces trying to turn it into an old-persons bike.

There’s a new national I-have-too-much-money-and-no-potty-training tradition known as rolling coal:

I think it came from the same people who invented these:

I’m familiar with that also. The “Diesel Brothers” TV show got into some trouble with their love of black smoke vehicles on the roadways.

Being a vinyl collector I knew it would have happened before or later. I’m arrived at my studio this morning and found that some of my rarest vinyl have been stolen. Not all, just the most rare and pricey. Who did it was aware of what was doing and probably commissioned by another collector. Euros 2000/3000 of 30 years collecting are now gone. What a shit.
Well, it’s useless to be angry. They are gone.
