Thank you!
After you’ve finished listening to Ellington of the 20’s & 30s listen to the early 40’s where there was a dramatic change to the sound of the band when Jimmy Blanton & Ben Webster joined. This for me is Ellington’s outstanding period of music making.
Thanks Chris, I’m more familiar with Ellington in the 40s and 50s myself. Yes there was a change. Ellington always evolved. It’s just the earlier bend that I hadn’t paid much attention to. Searching the album on ROON, I found a different Early Ellington, which has nice content, but not Ring Dem Bells, which was the flip side of “Three Little Words” which had vocals by Bing Crosby and the Rhythm Boys.
Me too
A little Latin flavor… Gypsy Kings - Baila Me
Super catchy new music from !!! (chk chk chk): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAkSBdKDwuc
And they recorded a version in Spanish (how cool is that?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Bi6GCzTGp8
Been listening to Emperor X. If I had to compare him to other groups, maybe something like Ben Folds + They Might Be Giants.

Depends on my mood🤔
This one is a bit of a guilty pleasure … but as with everyone else that I’ve seen comment on the album, tracks 2 and 6 are the highlights:
And the tempo of the overall album is good for waiting rooms while engrossed in clobbering the field in Tetris 99 …
This is a pretty solid list as far as jazz goes. I’ve been a big GoGo Penguin fan for a few years now. Mammal Hands is another great British trio.
DVass Welcome-Welcome Glad to have you and look forward to hear about
your audio journey
I got my Spotify “2019” playlist…kind of interesting… I don’t think it is in any sort of order, other than they were my most played songs of 2019.
apparently I don’t follow any one genre lol…which makes sense
Hi and welcome @DVass13.
Welcome. I suspect you are more than mere. Perhaps a sonic adventurer.
Late night listening session with Verite Closed…they’re way too good for closed back design!!!
I love the Mazzy Star version of this song, but Andrew Belle found something new and beautiful.
listened these days to Smashing Pumpkins, the “Siamese Dream” album via CD ripped FLACs

Yes, I’ve been listening to that also. I’ve not decided what to make of it. I think that the band has gotten wise despite their aversion to same. I think I prefer Sell Out, Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy, and of course, Tommy.
