What’s your EDC?

Being a G2 fan for every day use on all paper types, check out some options from Retro 51. The quality is stupid for retail. All metal, smooth twist out tip, 0.7mm line width, strikingly shiny black ink drying without feather from prestigious material to basic sticky note use. On Amazon you can get one personalized with your name. :slightly_smiling_face: My favorite designers are the Fire and Ice (Dungeons and Dragons theme) and 8-bit video game edition. Sore to this day about missing the zen garden launch. All 700+ sold out in under two hours. Now they go for bonkers prices.

FYI the solid color lacquered bodies feel best to hold in hand. The Fire and Ice metal is a bit thinner. Usually why I only grab the smoother looking finishes but that board game theme was…irresistible. Just look at that dice block on the twist part. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

So if the bad guys accost you, you can pay them off with Apple Pay, or are the bad guys all corporate now, @Lothar_Wolf ? In the bad old days of NYC (1970-80’s) the rule of thumb was if you had $200, the muggers wouldn’t hurt you.

Living in Amish territory, I don’t really worry too much about the bad guys - they’re the ones who don’t clean up after their animals.

I carry $200 in pennies. They fill my sap, walking stick, and “3rd leg” coin purse. A roll of pennies in the fist is great for fighting off the bad guys, and 6 rolls pay for a cup of coffee too. I usually tip two additional rolls. The muggers never want to carry 110 pounds in coins, so when they try to take 'em they end up wandering off shaking their heads.

If I didn’t know you better, I’d suspect you were pulling my leg. I assume you’ve checked the dates of the pennies to ensure you’re not carrying any valuable ones, Wheaties or Indian Heads…

You’re right about the 6 rolls. 6 rolls of pennies and 1 bitcoin will buy you a cup of coffee when the network is down.

I will not pull your 3rd leg.

I will not pull your 3rd leg.

This is a PG-13 website.

I sort my pennies by rarity, and negotiate better prices all the time. The many, many 18-year-old female numismatists who work as Starbucks baristas will swap a cup of coffee for 2-3 prime rolls instead of 6 rolls. It’s worth the effort, really worth it.

I find that bitcoin tastes best when powdered and sprinkled on a cappuccino.

Because of building metal detectors, x-ray machines, and laws, sadly, this is it:

Well there is this too - I used to carry one a pocket knife as EDC, but it’s more like once a week carry now. Just don’t find I need it that often. And it was a selection question - Swiss Army, or single purpose? Why not the little Leatherman that has a blade AND pliers?

This year I got to really whittling down to needed items. Key fob, light, and 7 most needed keys. I also have a shepherd’s sling in the car in case I need to throw rocks.
