DSHA-3FN Serial #19, checking in!
I will save more detailed impressions for when I’ve had more than a couple hours on it, but the one thing that jumped out immediately, and that I feel I can say unequivocally, is that the noise floor on the DSHA-3FN is the lowest I’ve ever heard in an amp. The transparency is jaw-dropping. Going from DAVE’s amp, which I consider to be extremely clean and quiet, to the DSHA-3FN is just a different world. I suspect this is what is responsible (at least in part) for the widely reported holography of the DSHA-3F(N). I’ve generally found that reduction in noise allows minute spatial cues to come through that are critical for the brain to interpret dimensionality and depth - and this amp has that for sure.
