I know I’m crazy but I wanted these back again. Also the best for gaming IMO. Can’t beat open box condition for $750 shipped.
Also recently picked these up and forgot to post with my Utopia comparison and work craziness.
Was able to snag the D8KP LE. Really enjoying these. Took some getting use to… I think burn in was really a thing with these. The bass, stage and layering improved after about 80-100 hrs. Maybe some brain burn in/adjusting as well. Comfort was iffy at first too but after some time the clamp loosened up. Thanks @taronlissimore for the sale and quick shipping. Much appreciated!
These are going to replace my Susvara. And since I was able to find a Susvara replacement, I’m going to be moving on to a slightly different chain. Won’t need so much power. Hopefully a DNA down the road, but while I wait I’ll use the Eddie Current Studio B I picked up a couple weeks ago. Thanks to @KaranGovil for the sale.
It’s been said before, but the 800S is a steal of a deal with the right amplification, even at the regular price. You got an even crazier deal!
Yeah, not sure why I’ve sold them in the past. I just need to keep them this time lol. They’re also nice when the recoding isn’t perfect. D8KP LE, Sus, Utopia, etc brings a lot of detail and sometimes that’s a double edged sword for lesser quality content.
They are also great for watching TV lol…I used to airplay my apple tv to my WD NET or any streamer really when I wanted to take a break from listening and keep listening from my rig or switch back and forth. The big stage is quite nice for movies.
Yes! I used them for movies too. Pretty fun experience.
Indeed. This is why I stick with the 800S and pass on many others. I’d buy other stuff if not for the high percentage of poor quality content out there.
Well I don’t think you are crazy.
It is a damn good headphone. It may not be the most friendly with just about every bad recording out there, but when this headphone gets the proper teammates and music sources it is still one of the very best headphones in the world.
Just an opinion of course.
Try this for a headband upgrade. It’ll improve your D-8000 comfort by a long shot.
I use it. It fits the headphone perfectly.
DSHA-3FN Serial #19, checking in!
I will save more detailed impressions for when I’ve had more than a couple hours on it, but the one thing that jumped out immediately, and that I feel I can say unequivocally, is that the noise floor on the DSHA-3FN is the lowest I’ve ever heard in an amp. The transparency is jaw-dropping. Going from DAVE’s amp, which I consider to be extremely clean and quiet, to the DSHA-3FN is just a different world. I suspect this is what is responsible (at least in part) for the widely reported holography of the DSHA-3F(N). I’ve generally found that reduction in noise allows minute spatial cues to come through that are critical for the brain to interpret dimensionality and depth - and this amp has that for sure. More later…
[EDIT] I spun up an “official” thread for the DSHA-3FN HERE.
Fantastic my friend. Also, check out CD JAPAN. they even have an app!
And CD New Release Asian & Western – Page 2 – MUSICCDHK
Is a terrific source.
Great upgrade, isn’t it?
I have it on my Focal as well, it greatly improves the comfort! It is kind of fugly, but it sure is worth having on there. Almost as comfy as a ZMF headphone!

His headbands for Utopia and D8000 are really great, improve the comfort significantly
The crescent strap truly is. I find the weight of the actual driver cups are far better distributed and of course you never get that dreaded “hotspot “ so many speak of. Honestly, it is the only thing I was kind of displeased with. The headband design that is. Final Audio’s design and comfort is extremely generic with that. Sadly.
Symbio F and W
I’m a silicone eartips kind of guy but had to give these a try. Premium material, I must say.
Oh cool! Can’t wait to hear what you think!
