Hmm, Drop pulled the old bait and switch on you and sent a cat instead of an amp? I’m pretty sure mature cats are not on the USPS approved postable animals list. Tsk-tsk.

This amp will disappoint the cat, as it runs too cool. Cats need a lot more tubes for satisfaction.

Ya. the older cat liked the Woo WA7 box. This young kitten, Chloe, seems to be enamored with the THX789 box.

Patience, young Padawan! Lol…I’m sure it will start “Drop”ing more…have I already said how much I dislike the new name? Eh…ah well…

Kitties have unfailingly discerning taste.

Nothing like walking into the office to find your “middle cat” all snuggled up, upside down, in your last laser print job, dander everywhere, most pages “bent” or “creased” (and probably nibbled) in some way, and the “world’s most innocent look” on their face …

Ok, time to revenge yourself, SR1a. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Aha!

You went with black too!

Haha, actually, at the time of my order, I found a silver Vidar in one used market… but passed it. One reason was if new, I could go with black! :kissing_heart:

PS. Another reason was that I was a little concerned with product failure, as power amps generally handle very hot signal.

Uh oh… Looks like I’ll need to mod it…

Initial play has the hummm in the left cup…if not easily fixed I’ll be returning :sob:

But with music on it isn’t noticeable…and sounds surprisingly good!

How on Earth did you pull that off?

I mean, yes, I have one on my office-desk … but that took some doing.

Bummer that it has the left-channel hum issues (I understand there’s a follow-up fix for that). There’s a relatively simple DIY fix if you want to try it (it’s cheap, non-destructive, and doesn’t require soldering). But, still, bummer that it’s “afflicted” …

I blame @antdroid…he sent me a link to it…lol…I’ll be trying all the fixes lol…it really does sound pretty good even with the hummm… It was on blinx for just under $300 or around that price…

I have two new toys to play with!!! Thank you for the second toy @Torq!!

Well, I hope the “tiny” toy is as good as you hope it is!

This tiny toy…in the tiny box…? What could it be?

Ooohh…ahhhhh…lol

Tada! (As my daughter would say)!

You weren’t kidding this is tiny!

Almost 3 year old hands for size lol

Today was a good day for audio😁

It is entirely diminutive!

I was surprised myself …

And I did promise “like new” …

Right down to the plastic wrapping …

OMG you joined the NORMA team.

@Torq blinq.com sells really random massdrop stuff (returns?) and ZDT Jr is $298 right now.

Yep … I’m familiar … and fortunately immune! Not that I don’t appreciate the “heads-up”!

My “day job” office-stack is a veritable showcase of “unobtanium” right now …

I have the Massdrop/Drop x RDAC and Grace Standard DAC Balanced (pictures first-thing Thursday), feeding a THX AAA 789 and a no-hum-at-all EC ZDT Jr into a pair of ZMF Vérité [Pheasantwood] sitting there awaiting my presence …

Thinking about it almost makes me want to list it for sale just to see how far it all gets bidded-up (especially if only offered as “all or nothing”), though I have no intention of selling any of it …
