What's in the box!

I spy an Ibanez to the left of the famous chair?

Jackson.

It’s nothing fancy. I’m still procrastinating trying to learn. LOL

Just as a follow up to the 84’s unboxing, I guessed right!

Probably means I frequent this site too much!!

Damn, close but no cigar! I have been trying to learn for the last 30 years. What amp do you have to accompany it?

A little Line6 v120 amp. That’s pretty much my entire setup. For a complete noob, it’s not a bad. Not a lot of $ either.

To paraphrase @ProfFalkin on GE tubes, “Friends don’t let friends use Line 6 amps.”

See the video below and fast forward to 8:40 if you are impatient during the satirical build-up:

There is nothing like conducting a review that emphasizes a beer belly, beard, and sledge hammer.

That is a solid set up, noob or otherwise. The Jackson’s back when I was playing had some hot sounding pick-ups, absolute screechers!
Keep up with the practice, if anything to let your finger work stay agile. A few times a year I have it in my head to get back into playing, and after a shortish session my hands and fingers are sore, then I say F’@#$ it and don’t pick it up for another few months.

Yeah, I imagine the line 6 is kind of like the M50x. Good for neophytes, not much else.

If I get super serious about it, I’ll grab the ZMF Verite equivalent. Hehe

I’m interested in your use of the meter and its connectivity to a source component.

Thanks, brother. I’m really happy with them.

It’s purely aesthetic. I have no technical use for them as I’m not monitoring any recordings, I just really enjoy the little bouncing needles.

At an MSRP of $610 they’re not cheap, most studio-oriented equipment isn’t. And I would definitely do it again for the pure joy they bring me.

Cheers!
