What's in the box!

I feel validated, had no idea this movie was coming out before my Schiit hammock comment.

Free beachwear! Nice swag from schiit oops looks like somebody beat me to it

Two humble vintage 12AU7 long plate tubes: Ken-Rad and GE

These are for assessing the potential of the ultra-cheap Bravo Audio V2 – as discussed here;

Both tubes work. Both tubes are superior to the factory unbranded Chinese short plate 12AU7 or (nearly identical) Groove Tubes short plate 12AU7. Evaluation in progress.

Wait until some other stuff in the mail arrives. I’m planning a more systematic evaluation. Tube design and structure (or internal mass) really does matter – so far I’m not finding much impact by brand.

Absolutely, especially given that no one call tell who made what tube anymore and tubes that look almost exactly alike via labelling sound quite different - then you look inside the glass and see the differences.

My favourite preamp tubes have different labels but same internals. It’s really a pain to have to search ebay pictures looking for a certain type of internal structure though.

For my X-SPDIF 2.
I like Digital interconnects with silver, so I’ll see how these are.

What are your impressions so far? @Polygonhell

They have by far the best Bass reproduction of any headphone I have heard.
That’s not to say they have the most Bass, but rather the Bass extension and their ability to portray the shape and timbre of the Bass is unique in my listening.
Sound stage isn’t large, but the separation is impressive.
Extremely resolving, I find myself finding it easier to pick out rhythms on high hats that anything else I have, but I wouldn’t consider them bright.
My initial impression was that vocals were recessed, but I’m changing my mind after listening for a few more hours.
Overall it’s just a really clean crisp presentation, and good recordings sound really good on them.
Still need a lot more listening, but my initial Impression is extremely positive.

Looks like it should be called Planar Brown.

There are hardly any reviews of this headphone, it seems. I’d be interested to hear your impressions.
