What's in the box!

Awesome TV, I had a similar situation last month and upgraded to the same model (Went with GX since I wanted the flush wall mount). I was surprised at the difference, especially since the previous tv was also a higher end 4K. I moved the older tv to the bedroom and the screen looks bad almost broken by comparison. OLED all the way going forward.

LG OLED. Got 2 of them myself. Actual black blacks, vivid, sharp. Good stuff. The picture presets are all over the place but I just put it on the home cinema setting and keep it there.

After a minor discussion with HiFiGo over the Moondrop S8, I found them on Amazon $105 below normal MSRP and pulled the trigger.
First impression is wide soundstage and lots of detail, just as I like it and even though they are not small, it is perhaps the IEM’s I have ever tried, with the best fit. I can hardly feel them when in my ears. And kudos to Shenzen Audio for fast delivery, less than 5 days including a weekend.

Yeah for sure. I’ll definitely with oled from here on.

Darn it, I still have a picture tube SD TV that refuses to die. It was a fancy model and lost one tuner in a lightning strike, so no PIP. But until it does I’m not interested in lugging the 34 inch monster downstairs and out. And it would be wrong to drop it off the bedroom balcony.

Congrats on getting that, you are going to have some kick ass options once your DNA amp arrives.

  • 1 on the presets, I made sure the motion settings was off every one of them. They are interest for sure, kind of like changing a DAC.

An early birthday present for myself.

Came this morning from Parts Express.

Tightly packed with bubble wrap, ordered Friday arrived from Ohio to Florida on Monday.

I had read about these and watched the review videos, I have the FX-Audio Tube-01 Pre and am happy with it so I thought I’d give the Tube-P1 a try.

A Petite Sized Amplifier, has the headphone plug front & center.

Here it is on the shelf in my Nearfield Office system, I’ve got to do cabling for the Pioneer BS-21 speakers and tie in a DAC to it. Looking forward to listening this week.

Peek a boo!

Quick phone pic. These, and the chair, look better in person.

That looks amazing! Congrats! Great chair!

Oh, uh… The headphones are nice too.

 :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The typical refrain that these are nicer in person is apt. The little colours and gradients and play in the wood are remarkable.

Haven’t done much on ears yet. Feel comfortable on first wear.

Got to keep the theme going!!

I really do like the color contrast in that wood.

That you can still see the chatoyance tells me whoever made these didn’t just slap some stain on it and then varnish it. It’s like they knew what they were doing… Huh.

Good results with wood = sanding, then sanding, and then some more sanding. Sand then stain then sand then stain then finish then sand then finish then sand then…

Yeah, is a hobby of mine too. I don’t mind sanding as much as other people apparently, as many of the woodworkers I follow on social media bemoan it often.

I think the whole process is kind of soothing, in my experience. Pun intended.
