Yeah IEMs are not my favorite… but I appreciate what they do… and some are pretty amazing
can confirm… these nice! well the Cowon… it is pure FLAC audiophile goodness ha!
Niiiice! I can send you the Dave + M Scaler to obliterate your wallet!
You better stay away from that combo if you want to keep your wallet safe!
I pretend they don’t exist for the sake of my wallet ha! I have wanted a DAVE since I first seen and heard it!
Thanks to @Hansel I grabbed the PortaPro for $20 at Amazon:
They sound better than I remember (last used in the 1990s).
Bonus – here are several new to me vintage 12AU7 tubes for the Bravo Audio V2. As the V2 is the Noise King and extremely sensitive to tube variations, it is educational for experimenting with the HD-600. Per each tube, the V2’s output quality ranges from awful shrillness and scratchiness to “that’s quite pleasant for casual listening.”
Enjoy.
Still resisting this hype at this side of the screen.
The PP is a sub $50 product. Period. While it sounds very good in the price class, it is mid focused and doesn’t pass my fatigue test. My ears hiss after an hour. I can listen all day on the Clear.
Awesome!! Enjoy!! Why mine don’t come till Saturday .
I know the destination for mine is a drawer or my wife but at least is my first one!
I can listen all day on several other headphones too. But I can’t PORTA them like I do with the PORTA pro. Outside doing yard work, or cooking in the kitchen or on the Barbeque. Plus they have a mic so I can answer phone calls. And while I’d love to have some Clears (I don’t) I can’t just buy 3 pairs of them so I can hand out a couple to people who have never experienced anything but earbuds. (Well I could, but the value proposition isn’t there).
And one word: YAXI PADS yes I know its 2
I’m saving for one myself. Patience…
If the purple cable or the ZMF festivus didn’t give it away @TylersEclectic has lent me his VO for a first time listen for me!!
Looking forward to the review on this one.

For my Kenzie, i found a batch for $6 a tube and it had a pair of Tung Sols in it!! I keep on hearing about the tung sols so now i get to try them…and have enough backup tubes for 10 years LOL!!!
That’s a good price on 1626s
Were they tested?
Boxes are dust…good find.
Not tested as most are still sealed up in the box. Started using the tung sols and they sound good. Will try the others to make sure they all work and im also getting a cheap tube tester from a local shop. Just waiting for it to show up
I think the tube tester is a great idea. Checking for shorts being something I always think is key. I’ve tested two-three hundred tubes, and found three or four with shorts. A couple of dead ones too.
Which tube tester did you purchase? Most of the ones I see used are relics, military ones.
I don’t know yet. My friend owns a local hifi shop and said one is coming in soon for $200 and I said Id take it. Will know very soon.
