What's in the box!

Where do you guys find all those “weird” headphones?!?!
Looks amazing .

I backed them on indiegogo lol, I jumped on it pretty quick when I found out it was some of the people from JDS labs working on them. I was backer #63 lol

I just got this in, it’s the Burnt Orange version of the Erupt. I asked for non-speckled yokes. I was backer #61. The headset was clearly rushed out the door as it has scratches on several areas and some very sloppy (and ugly) work on the elastic bands. I’ll post photos of this in the official thread for the Erupt and maybe on Head-Fi.

That’s funny, I got super excited when you posted on the campaign comments that you had shipping! As you were just ahead of me #63

I also think they are a little rushed but overall I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of materials and build.

I listened to them for about an hour last night while transferring my old Nintendo switch data into my new switch(longer battery for the win!). I actually like the sound signature on them. Very clear sound with some loss to details in what I think are the mids, wasn’t overly paying attention to it. one issue I’ve had is when using aftermarket cables the right cup doesn’t produce sound, I have to use the stock cables…which kind of suck.

Great pics @Tacanacy! I went team blue myself, kind of wish I went with unfinished aluminum, like someone did…looks pretty cool.

What are your thoughts on the sound?

Also nice desktop set up!

They are not that “weird” after all…

Spoiler alert: I know exactly what’s in all the boxes.

Still waiting on a few nicknacks to finish everything up (like cable combs). I desperately need to do wire management, and get it moved a little bit farther from the JBL monitor, but… meh. Details.

Here is (kind of) what it ended up looking like. The RGB controller wanted to vomit random colors all over the place like a bulimic unicorn having a grand mal seizure, but other than that, I think it looks pretty good…

Nice! Looks good! I’ve been wanting to do a fresh build for a bit now, you are not helping that desire lol.

Currently running i5-8600/16gb ram/1080ti I repurposed an earlier case, and the ram. But replaced mobo to use the 8600 chip and retired everything. Still a mess inside lol.

I’ve been having the itch to do a complete new build lately though…maybe I’ll start pricing and building on paper to delay a bit longer lol

Nice looking setup there ! Any specific game you’re wanting to play with that ?

I’m thinking @ProfFalkin is prepping for Cyberpunk 2077

I got the Erupt yesterday and have listened to it for a few hours, and as much as I want to concur with some of what you said and draw comparison to HD650, I don’t do first impressions since they can end up being unrepresentative of what I feel about the headphone/headset after long-term use.
I also got Verum 1 yesterday and like it so much that it has taken over the Erupt as my new toy. I should receive an Ori and Auteur from ZMF soon, too, so the Erupt will probably get pushed back even further in the line.
Where did you see one with unfinished aluminum? You mean those silver cups we saw in the updates?

Yeah, someone requested a no coat option for their Vokyl Erupt based on the update pictures and Jude complied.

I initially wasn’t “blown away” by the Erupts, but the more time with them the more I’m appreciating what they do…I’m getting a mini Focal Clears mixed with HD800 vibe from them. But need more time with them on my head. I’ve only used the Cayin N6ii for music so far. Played a little bit of Titans Quest on the switch as well.

My Verum1 was fun, it has such a cool sound signature. @taronlissimore has it now, as I’ve determined I’m not a big planar fan, I tend to grab my ZMFs or SR1A over my other stuff these days.

The ZMF stuff I’m a huge fan of! You will really like them with your EC ZDT Jr!

Did you build this PC? If yes, that’s quite an accomplishment!

I’m not sure I could live with all those colors, though. Risk of acid flashbacks!

If I could ever stop buying headphones for long enough I might be able to rebuild mine  nawwww,

Cyber Punk 2077. Until that comes out, I’ll placate myself with Battlestar Galactica Deadlock and Boarderlands 2. I have a feeling CP’77 is going to be epic.

LOL, yes.

I played cyberpunk table top in high school, a little ShadowRun as well. Those games were so good. I’m excited that they’re bringing it to PC.

The LED lights have been tamed. It now is a steady white color, unless the CPU or video card get to hot, then they switch to red. It only happens when I benchmark the system.

It’s a 9900k overclocked to 5.1Ghz. This was my hobby before I got into headphones.

I’ve read majority of the novels in this universe as a kid! Love it! Wish they would bring a “proper” similar to cyberpunk 2077 style game in that universe as well! Oh man sooo many …bon… never mind

I played the crap out of the Sega and SNES versions, the new remakes with turn based are ok…but I would prefer a more 2077 approach…it would be awesome…or even a third person action style like the Division, or Ghost Recon, or even a GTA style.

That would be amazing! Just do the combat part as a Battlefield type game, with mages/shaman, riggers, physical adepts, and street samurai as playable types. The decker could be your “Ai/game narrator” thing. Deckers were always hard to play in that game, they never really seemed to be part of the team, sitting on their asses hacking stuff.

Dwarf Physical adepts FTW! I played one once. I named him Cannonball. The street samurai in the team would just throw him at people, and then he’d whack their legs off. So much fun.
