I think the overall chain is amazing. It’s quite a big step change from RME–>Taurus, going from clinical to euphonic I suppose.
Jury is still out on the Chord, at the very least I can’t hear anything wrong with it which is a good start. Still playing around with the filters and haven’t touched the crossfeed.

No, it’s not SE vs balanced. The note is telling us not to plug in a cable with a TRRS connector, which is used for headsets with microphones. Most headphones use the TRS connector, which they’re saying is fine. You can tell the difference by counting the rings on the connectors.
Many devices are not compatible with TRRS – I had to buy at TRRS to TRS adapter for some uses. The 3.5mm jack evolved into serving too many functions, even video. I’m guessing this contributed to phone maker 3.5mm avoidance (e.g., Apple).
