I was really curious about these so I picked up a pair.
The build quality is very good, and they’re quite comfortable. The ear cups are deceptively roomy, fitting my very large ears well.
Initial impressions after setting them aside with some pink noise for a couple of hours; they’re very detailed, have excellent imaging and separation (probably their greatest strength), are a tad ‘bright’ (I’m fairly treble sensitive), and have a kind of wonky tonality (some odd peaks that I’m hearing but can’t pick out). All that being said, I kind of like them. They could do with a boost in bass, and warmer sources are a major plus. Tubes seem to be very helpful at evening out the tonality as well.

Are the ear pads really narrow, like the Master and Dynamic stuff? They look very similar.

I’ve known about them for awhile now. The company was started by former AKG’s team. I am sure that the full story is somewhere out there on the internet. Regardless, the people behind the company have previous experience and they seem to know what they are doing.
Some people did have issues with the build quality though…
It is actually a set of headphones, Openheart OH2000, that is sold like that (with all the contents).
The cool thing is that everything is screwed together, no glue involved, even the end caps of the rods are screw on, as are the metal cups, the back screws off.

A good armchair in order to separate my listening zone from my desk. Less distractions from computer and mobile, more focus on music.

They are pretty thin/narrow, but are fairly comfortable.
Apparently Austrian Audio is made up of former AKG engineers. They left around the time of the Samsung acquisition is my understanding.
They’re interesting for sure. Maybe a little too bright/peaky for me, but what they do well they do very well.

So this has been an interesting week. I had no plans or intentions of any audio-related purchases, but here I am with my second headphone of the week. Funny how things play out.
I just saw these on Wednesday and after reading a bit about them I decided that I had to hear them.
I’ll leave impressions on the Focal Clear thread later.
