What's in the box!

All iSine were gone in the Valentines sale, when I entered… :weary: :weary: :weary:

Curious to know how these iSine LX sound in comparison! I saw the email pretty early on and thought about buying, but didn’t think these would get much head time, despite the low price.

Continuing the spurt of Valentine’s special Audeze iSine LX buys, here are mine lurking behind our Death Star table lamp:

BONUS: A new iPad arrived today. My old Spyderco Delica happens to be in this box too.

Initial testing now, just after using the Koss Porta Pro…not that different…perhaps less detailed but more laid back…will try a burn-in…TBD…

Do you have a Cipher cable for iOS? Or the Audeze app? I assume they work pretty much the same as my iSINE 20 and LCDi3. Note that the iSINE 20 is really the ONLY one that qualifies as a “Tie Fighter” in your ear.

…and yet one more iSine LX. Forgive my crappy phone pic and even crappier picture taking abilities.

Perched on top of my trusty SVS cylinder sub…going strong since 2005.
And a pic that you can actually see what they look like…

First impressions …Definitely a lot less dynamics and oomph than my daily IEM, the jvc-fw01 (woodie) . Those are supposedly very warm from what I understand and not everyone’s cup of tea… I love them. I had all of about 5 minutes listening so I can’t say much about the sound. They sound crisp and detailed to me so far. I will say the fit is interesting. Will take some getting used to. Not your traditional fit and the nozzles are Uuuge. So fitting different tips may be impossible. I don’t know of any that big. We’ll see…

No special cable in the box, just 3.5mm TRS. I’ve not tried the thumb drive to check for an app. After an hour, I compare the treble to listening through venetian blinds or a mesh/screen. It’s obviously dithered in the common lower-priced planar fashion, and not too accurate. However, it tames the treble vs. the Porta Pro (as piercing). Too soon to judge enjoyability.

Any of these come across as Tie Fighters. Wife hates them as too huge. Secure with the clips, but I may swap the tips and try to avoid the clips. They are fiddly to put on or take off, and feel fragile.

If you’re into electronic and electroacoustic music check this Mika Vainio’s album. One of his last live exhibitions before he sadly passed away.
Heavy weight vinyl, very well recorded, restored and mastered in impeccable way (crappy phone pics doesn’t give justice to it).

I love the 888D… very reliable workhorse. Put countless hours into mine and still works as well as day 1. Great investment :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
