Well if you would have posted a pic of the Sennheiser HE-1, I would have almost believed you
I love my Fiio M11, but it needed an upgrade sound-wise, so after some searching, I ended up with the Cayin N6ii with the E02 Dac/Amp module. The E02 bc it has the sound I like out of of the 4 modules available and it has a 4.4 pentacon plug.
I like the 4.4 a lot over the 2.5, so I ordered it 2 days ago from Cayin (only store who sell it with just the module you want) and was expecting it in 1-2 weeks. (Hong Kong to Denmark).
But yesterday I got a text from DHL and early this morning this bad boy arrived:
It is amazing, the sound is close to my desk set-up and a clear upgrade over the M11.

Shure SM7 B arrived today with the Thomann FetAmp.
Did some recordings and comparing it to my NTG5.
Had it at the office and compared also to the NTG3…
Need to get my wife in and do some blind listening
I use my GF for confirmation, too ![]()
yes she is not very hyped about helping me out.
But I had a few hours at the office, for recording some takes. A young coworker spoke in front of the camera and we had fun, comparing the 3 microphones. Depending on the 2 different rooms, we were in, each one has its place. The Dynamic handled disturbing reverberations the best. The NTG 3 and 5 are also excellent in a open Space, as long as there is not much background noise.
My boss came in and we had him listening to the recordings. He gave his ok for some noise blankets;)
Think I have to keep both and loan the companies NTG3 if I need it.
next week my overhead boom mic stand gets finally delivered and I fear my wife is going to get crazy, about all the light and mic stands plus the camera tripod at my desk.
Got this giant box in yesterday… was worried it would look too big on my desk, but it actually fits in pretty well.
Congratulations @Gordon_Freeman you have a really great Dap there. I haven’t heard the E02 module but understand it to be really good. I like to use the E01 myself. I may in the future get the E02. Happy listening.
Thanks Paul
I am sure all 4 modules are great sounding, but Headfonics.com had a review of each of the modules and that really helped in understanding the differencies. That is worth looking at, if you are contemplating getting another module.
What module are you using?
You need to hit that with 1.21 gigawatts if you want to unlock it’s time travel features
I know these feels, wife has me breaking down my live stream setup every time now lol… such a pita setting up lights and breaking them down.
How are you looking out so far?
Exactly – this time is like lost and my good old trusty but cheap light stands won’t keep up, in the long run. At least there a dozen different ones everywhere in the house LoL. Don’t get why she isn’t used to the look and gave up long time ago
Cool…didn’t know that was a thing !!
I’m loving it so far. It has so much power I’m pretty sure I’m set for a while when it comes to powering planars
Received my Norne Silvergarde S3.
It’s built very well, and has a nice feel to it. I’m a fan now, and will likely order from Trevor in the future. Excellent service as well.
What was the turnaround time? I’ve liked the look of his cables for some time.
It wasn’t too long. I’ve seen people say several weeks, but I ordered on the 1st, so under two weeks.
Trevor was very responsive and provided excellent service. He offered several options and made sure I received exactly what I wanted (something simple for the Clear MG Pro).
I’ll be buying from him in the future.
(Will most likely try his new Vykari next. It wasn’t in stock yet)
I’m also in the Norne club. Really enjoy the cable.
I bought it with the A01 module that has the AK4497EQ Dac chipset. Then after a month or two I bought the E01 modulebwhich has the ESS9038pro Dac chipset. The E01 is my goto Amp/Dac module. It’s really nice. All down to personal choice in the end though.
