I had to be away from home just a few hours total this week and of course that’s when FedEx came and couldn’t deliver it despite my signed note, but they were going to try again the same day. Our delivery lady has been the same for 13 years, so one of the perks of living in a very small, rural place. Saw the notification when I was out and could get it at the airport so drove the extra hour to get it and wasn’t going to take a chance of it not coming until Friday. Feels like getting an end game tube amp was a long time coming since I’d ordered a Glenn OTL 19 months ago which I gave up on. Mine also came with just the stock tubes, but Zach has already posted that the NOS ones would come directly from ZMF. Don’t plan to try other tubes for a while anyway.

These showed up last night. Great synergy with the Rebel Amp. Not super detailed, but very musical.

A brandy-new Bigger Ben!
Normally my first tracks I listen to on a new piece of gear are from Dire Straits Brothers In Arms, but I decided to pay homage to Justin @ampsandsound and break it in with the first couple of tracks of Paul Simon’s Graceland. This amp is impressive. I can’t wait for it to open up a bit more as it burns in.
I’m going to start putting it through it’s paces tonight.

I also love the way they wrap everything as though it’s a gift. It almost helps me to justify the price.

I’m going to try it out with my Wharfedales when nobody’s home. The reason I got into headphones to begin with is because my kids complained I was playing my music too loud.

With the EVO 400 and its 14 tubes of glory my Tekton Double Impacts are crazy good now it’s given me the same enjoyment of headphones. The Emotiva I have sucks at making the my speakers fun to listen to.
The EVO 100 DAC is for my headphone setup and its the best dac I’ve owned Dac weighs 30lbs with 6 tubes and big transformers.
Now I pray one day Prima comes out with a headphone only tube amp for the Abyss.
