What's in the box!

Finally! That took a bit of time, and by the looks of it well worth the wait as they are very pleasing. Congrats on these Rhodey, well deserved.

Haha yeah, that was totally on me tho after the double purchase situation. ZMF worked with me and made sure I was happy. I wanted to be patient and make sure it was something I liked. Couldn’t be happier with their customer service.

It almost looks like they are leather wrapped with that underlying wood texture. I’m sure they have some nice chatoyance that never comes thru on the photos. Very classy.

Im still in queue for mine. I have the classic records pressing already and am confidently anticipating a great record with a silent noisefloor

The sound quality is impeccable. I’m surprised to say there was more crackling than I expected - more than a lot of my Tone Poets. Not sure if my record just needs to be cleaned or what, but it was less silent than I expected the hallowed clarity vinyl to be. Of course I’m splitting hairs, but that’s the sort of expectation I have at this level. :man_shrugging:

I preclean every record I get and very rarely have a lot of pops and clicks. Most people I talk to that have a noisy record that’s bought brand new mostly did not pre clean it. Do you have a cleaner? Have you tried any? The problem is even if it looks clean there are chemicals that are used at pressing plants and also the warehouse type plants are not the cleanest and have tons are crap that hard to see with the naked eye.

Vacuum based is the best as it’s quick and convenient but costly. Definitely a wet clean is best and a spin clean can help a lot and is only $70 but sadly the record has to be air dried.

There are wonderful vacuum based machines for about $300ish that are awesome and definitely worth it.

No, I don’t have a cleaner. If I was going to get one it would be an ultrasonic, but I’m trying to be less spendy on stay-at-home things now that real life is starting to resume. Anyway, I wouldn’t say it was riddled with pops and clicks, just light crackles. Nothing terribly problematic, just worth noting considering that absolute pristine quality is the whole draw for this sort of thing.

You can make an ultrasonic cleaner diy for about $200-300 by buying all the parts online.

I really miss my LP12. How is it with the Bigger Ben?What are you using as a phono amp?

My lp12 is connected to my speaker setup and never use headphones in that room. Although I did it once and it sound way different. Super super warm and syrupy.

I had an LP12 with the Ittok LVII tonearm and Monster Cable alpha gold cartridge playing through an original Naim Nait when I was 18 years old. Didn’t know how good I had it!

That is a lofty standard to go on through your adult life!

Just unboxed mine. Unsealed one of the two copies (the other is backup) and gave Side One a spin.
As superlative as hyped, with a little bit of noise (despite a cursory brushing on the platter) but not much. A good vacuum clean should fix that. Pretty great …

Beyers. Don’t ask me why.

Ok, so I’ll ask this:

When did you pick up the Rosson?

Those are on loan. Not mine.
