After watching the reviews and reading the forums for awhile, I decided to get a Verite Open.
Then, I had to wait so long for the perfect wood.
After finally placing my order, the unending refresh of the Order Status page went on for about 2 months.
When the headphone was shipped out, I had to wait half a month more for it to travel half way around the world to get to me.
And so, after all that has been said and done, my Verite Open in Ziricote finally arrived yesterday…
I asked Zach if I could order mine with the older headband, and he very kindly accommodated that request since they still had some inventory. Zach, Bevin, and the whole ZMF team are really just beyond awesome to work with!
But, there is one problem I did not foresee…
I can’t decide if I should stare at them or listen to them!
They also offered Ziricote for the VC during the last ZMF November. After getting my VO, it makes me wonder if it is a good idea to get a matching pair in that wood, too? Or go for something different?
Any suggestions?

That’s a beautiful headphone. Congrats! I would recommend watching what this year holds for VC releases and take your time deciding on what to pick. There is so much variety and so many unique special editions, I would caution against being hasty in deciding you want 2 made of the same wood right away. Give it some time, let it marinate.

Thanks, yeah, I’ll go with that suggestion. You’re right about not rushing in case some other VC releases come out.
Will probably just try pad rolling the VO in the meantime, and maybe trying out some tubes, too.

I can’t make a suggestion…too stunned by the gorgeousness of your new zircote VO.
I love blackwood for reasons both aesthetic and sonic, but I must say, zircote is an astounding looking wood for headphones.
My advice: look at them briefly, then listen to them at length. The VO is my favorite headphone; I couldn’t bear to be without one now.

So much character in this wood, I absolutely love it! And the brass just works so well, too!
Can you tell the sonic differences between woods? I thought those would be barely noticeable and didn’t really factor it into my decision making. I
What is your favorite pad? I’m curerntly enjoying the Be2 lambskin a lot. I got the Universe, too, but I think that one takes a bit more brain burn in time, so I’ll make sure to do that soon. I just placed an order for the Verite pads, too. Thought it would be nice to get the full spectrum.
