I’m not expecting much but hoping I’ll be surprised.
At the very least, I suppose it can double as a space heater in the winter, haha.
Hot plate. It’ll be great for cooking ramen noodles and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Schiit gets it back for repair under warranty:
“man…this thing is covered in…oil? wait…why does it smell so good…”
Yeah, you want fries with that?
Radian compression driver/horns on top and Seas bass drivers on bottom.
Nice, congrats! 4 or 6 screw?
I don’t know if the envy will be able to push that
Thanks, 6 screw, unmodded.
I’m going to refrain from comment cause I only had about an hour with them. So I just bounced around listening to bits here and there. They’re fun, that much I can say for sure! Don’t see myself not liking them…
Usually I’m only at 3 o’clock with the Susvara but since putting in the C3gs I can only get to 2 o’clock now. Thinking about getting a preamp so I can get a little more range and turn the Envy up a little more. Not sure if it would make a difference…never used a pre.
On the He-6 I can turn it to 3 o’clock again with the C3gs…it seems it’s actually a little harder to drive than the Susvara.
Yeah, that seems about right from what I’ve heard too.
With my Wavelight it has a built in pre and it’s definitely a nice addition when needed for something like this.
Same with my WA 22. It is very handy.
Slightly off topic, but – I noticed you put your Chord on a isolation platform. I have various tweaky isolation things under my components, but have always wondered if it’s pure headphone and therefore no room / speaker vibrations, does it matter as much? (barring other house/room vibrations)…
Yeah, it seems to matter, but not as much as other non-major-component tweaks. I was skeptical as to whether or not it would matter, but after I added the platform under my DAVE, I noticed an ever so slightly more relaxed and coherent sound - more “analogue-y”, if you will. I’d bet it’s very location dependent, and I live in NYC, so you have a building full of other residents, industrial AC units, cars outside, the subway, etc.
I’d generally rank non-audio-electronics upgrades in order of improvement, from most to least, as follows:
- Power Conditioner / Regenerator
- Power Cables
- Analogue Interconnects
- Digital Interconnects
- Vibration Isolation
If you wanted to include tube dampers, I’d slot those in as a 3b (between analogue and digital interconnects).
Of course, the ranges vary here, so if you go from worst digital interconnect to best, the change can be bigger than a small change in analogue interconnects, for example.
Unfortunately I don’t have the box or any unboxing pictures for this one since I did not unbox them, but my son Seth came to me this past Thursday and asked if we could order him a set of Headphones. Specifically he had already settled on the Meze 99 neo.
Of course I said, “Yes”. And Amazon just delivered them. Quality build & feel, he is just absolutely stunned seeing as all his previous Headphones were low $ Bluetooth specials.
I’m happy that I’ve got one of my kids interested in good sound.

This is awesome. Congrats both on the audiophile son and the new headphones!
Not gonna lie - one excuse/reason I have to want a pair of something that both looks and sounds nice (e.g. Meze or ZMF) is to have something I can hand down to my daughter when it’s time.
The Mjolnir 3 has been getting rave reviews on several headphone related forums. Looks like Schiit hit it out of the park with this latest incarnation of the M3!
Yes I had to have the shelves in my custom rack made 2 inches deeper than standard.
Congrats,
Note the spikes go spike up into the recesses in the feet, and of course the power button is on the bottom. Not going to admit to how many minutes of panic that caused me first plugged it in, and thought it was broken.
