How is the actual build quality of the stand?
I got 3 that came through my office for a project recently and the top wasn’t level on 2 of them and on the other, the top kept falling off due to the holes being slightly larger than the metal posts.

Oh, it’s very stable and it has little rubber/polyurethane feet/nubs on the bottom. I just assumed it would be heavier (kind of like the walnut stand).
@SenyorC, “I got 3 that came through my office for a project recently and the top wasn’t level on 2 of them and on the other, the top kept falling off due to the holes being slightly larger than the metal posts.”
The build is fantastic. Symmetrical and very stable, without any chips or blemishes. It was also packaged very well.
Perhaps because it shipped all the way over to the states (California) they made sure to give me a ‘good’ one!
ok thank you - and opening the thomann shop
The three I got were shipped to us from the states LOL!
…
Nice!
Now to have @Resolve review one for the new channel…
Yeah I think that’s likely. I was seriously considering the previous version, so I’m on the lookout for something like this.
Nah it’s now an office centrepiece. @Resolve isn’t getting his hands on it (that’s not true at all but a man can dream). For now, we’ve got the Matrix Audio X-Sabre Pro so it’ll be fun to do some back to backs!
LOL!
@Resolve - here you go. Enjoy:
Haha!
I actually mentioned to @andrew about pairing the X-Sabre Pro with the Phonitor.
I wonder how it sounds? (Self spoiler: I know it’s fantastic!)
I’m just waiting to read the follow-up posts when you guys start configuring it for the first time …
(Remember, the settings for each output, Line, Phones and IEM are SEPERATE … so changing one doesn’t change the others).
And pay attention to the “Reference Level” setting!
@Resolve has our Phonitor XE so I wouldn’t know
@Torq Andrew’s out of the office for the week so it’s going to be a solo experience. Unfortunately don’t have any interns running around to blame if something goes wrong!
There’s always the panic “Restore Factory Settings” option.
Not gonna lie…I’ve hit this button a couple times w/the RME lol
The RME looks beautiful ascetically to me No doubt about it! I know it’s excellent from what Ian and many others have said, however everything I have read about the complexity of it lately turns down the volume for me.
Maybe it’s because my job consists of using digital camera systems, Computers, editing software, lighting ratios, etc. so when I listen to music much of time it’s the simplicity of just plugging in flipping a switch or two and turning some knobs that feels right to me.
It’s probably why I never really got into Equalizing my music much. I do enjoy tone control via the Schiit Loki but even then I find just switching to a different pair of headphones is so enjoyable and causes me to fiddle around less and just sit back and really listen to the music.
I dunno maybe this is a crazy way of looking at it.
I actually agree, I prefer to just plug in and let go lol… that is why I’m so stoked for my Bifrost2! But the RME isn’t going anywhere as it’s my reference DAC lol
Have you had a chance to compare them much yet?
Hi Taron @taronlissimore
So is the left single ended out the traditional white in color or did they keep it the same as the “older” version which has the Left single ended out as the non-traditional black? As when you look at the back of the RME it’s the colors of the German flag
Which I have to admit is a cool touch!
Also this may have been answered before, but any chance in the future of “you” Headphones.com selling the RME?
welcome to the RME-club!
it isn´t as complicated as standalone unit
