Not in the short term.
I mean, as of today, I don’t have anything very difficult to drive so I better watch that knob.
Black Modi 3 came in today! Originally I went with silver because it was on Amazon and I had some credit. I decided to grab the black variant because I’m sort of OCD about not having both the DAC and amp match.
Now that I have both… I’m not sure which one I like better. Silver is a nice contrast to the black and adds some “liveliness” to the setup, the black just blends in with the 789.
Ultimately, I think I will be keeping the black because it just blends in the background without catching my peripheral vision as the silver does. The silver just sticks out too much!
The black’s input switcher is smoother and has less resistance than the silver’s. The silver one needs a bit more force to switch.
Also, I love the brushed aluminum on the silver it just feels so smooth and nice. The black is powered coated so it doesn’t 100% match the 789’s anodization. I would love a matching DAC for the 789.
These are, without a doubt, the most beautiful, best-built adapters I’ve ever seen! Jewel-like Audeze-to-Abyss adapters

I gave my 10-year-old son the HE-4xx, I need something a little tougher for him that would not easily break with tougher cable.
I am right listening to David Bowie Loving the Alien on my Susvara.
Yeyyy… Nice sleeve choice. Congrats.
Cheers.
Fine line between too boring and just a bit much sometimes. Choose black to match the headbands/pads of the Verite, and the white/silver minimal pattern to match in with the stainless rods/grills. Turned out well.
These are gorgeous headphones with meticulous attention to detail and the craftsmanship is up there with ZMF.
How do they sound!?
And the Cavalli, rate it? Have you tried it against the Lyr 3?
@Tacanacy I’m interested in your thoughts on these! I love the grill design! Also, what headphone stands are your other headphones in the background on? From the little bit you can see they look dope!
What arrived today?
Guesses?
Maybe this will help…
Did you guess Hifiman?
Hifiman Deva open back, planar BT headphone
The stands were made by Borykworkshop on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/no-en/shop/Borykworkshop. You’d have to custom order them. They cost $70 with free shipping.
I need more time with Aiva before I share thoughts on them.
Those look awesome!, I had bad experience with wood, I have an omega headphone stand and my ear pads and headband got stuck to them
Maybe it was cheap wood in my case, but yea, I try to avoid it.
I need more time before I form an opinion on Aiva. I don’t like posting first impressions. I haven’t heard Lyr 3. I got LP just a few days ago, and I’ll be without it for the foreseeable future since I need to send it back because it has channel imbalance at approximately 10 o’clock.
No pressure, but looking forward to your impression
Yikes, I’ve seen photos of that from people who bought wooden omega stands on Amazon. The stands from Borykworkshop, including his omega stands, don’t stick to pads or headbands.
If you happen to use ZMF suede headbands, then don’t put the headphones on the stands because they would stain the wood.
I was one of them
Ill check out the one you posted. Thanks!
Man the Deva looks great! I personally find it classy, but it seems like some people are not fond of it.
Would love to hear your impressions of it.
Those are lovely! I think you have sent me to this gentlemans page before for headphones…hmm… or I randomly stumbled upon them… I remember his iconic designs =) super cool looking!
