Ever since finishing my review of the Vérité Closed, I have been missing them. Immediately following that review I began work with Zach on something special for my own set - with this path begin a bit experimental all around.
My original intent to buy one set of Vérité Closed LTD somehow became two*.
And today, the fruits of Zach’s labor, creativity and craftsmanship finally arrived on my door step …
The chatoyance of the wood/finish is lovely, and is why the color and intensity shifts a bit at different angles and in different light:
I’ll have better pictures up when I get a chance … just wanted to get a couple posted and then on to listening.
But … I think Zach has outdone himself once again. These two pairs being in stabilized maple-burl, one with a copper rods and a charcoal bronze chassis, and the other with rose gold and black.
Hopefully ZMF will offer this wood as a bigger run of LTD cans, or even for other models, as it is absolutely gorgeous!
Oh, and they sound even better than I remember … so those wondering why I hadn’t said much about them since my review … fear not, I hadn’t changed my mind on them - I was anxiously awaiting my own set.

Congrats on getting them and having them turn out the way they did. It’s hard to believe they could have turned out any better.

So gorgeous! Are they both stabilized maple burl, or is the purple one stabilized camphor burl?

I just took the two shots you see above so far. I’ll be taking more (I just wanted to get to listening yesterday), and that’ll include close-ups of all the ZMF cans I have, but probably not until after the weekend.

As far as I know, you can’t order/pre-order these yet - and Zach is talking about a slightly different way of selling these (see this post for more information).

Normally I listen to Verité silkwood open at home (EC Aficionado amp). I brought home my Verité closed monkeypod from work and spent some time with on on the same amp. I had only heard the VC on this amp before they were well burned-in. Now, wow, it’s kind of moving from Monet to Cézanne! I’m now wondering whether I should just get another VC and sell the VO…
