Has this program been affected by the current COVID-19 situation?
Yes, depending on availability and stock, shipping etc. I believe @taronlissimore will be bringing it back up to speed once everything settles down and clear paths for moving forward are made apparent.
Gotcha. Thanks for the info!
He can send mine to the post-apocalyptic tire fire where I’ll be living with my family.
Now that I’ve qualified for the first Tier, I actually would love to hear the Audioquest Night Hawk or the Final Audio Sonorous III.
This program for the US only? Or any gear happy to trip it to Australia
this is US only - greetings from europe!
Canada is almost US, right?
You had your chance:
54 40 or Fight!
Make America Polk Again…
Canada is included in this program as well.
Canada is included ! I’ve used this program a few times.
Bummer!
Nothing like this in Aus. Two shops basically, in other cities, where you can try some gear in store.
I mean Logistically and cost effectiveness would probably be a nightmare for them
Hi all, can a SACD player or a record player be a discrete source? For the SACD player, I have the sony ubp-x1100es.
Hey @asanjuan2003 hope you are enjoying the forum we are happy to have you here with us! Are you referring To the Sacd player or record player as it refers to the community preview program?
Yes, an SACD player is fine.
That requirement is there so that people aren’t trying to drive high-end gear with inappropriate setups that won’t let them exploit the gear their borrowing properly - and then coming up with faulty conclusions.
For example, trying to give critical feedback on an LCD-4 or HEDDPhone while using a typical cell phone or motherboard headphone output as the source … while being fed from Spotify.
I’m enjoying the forum for sure! Yes I was referring to the community preview program. I was wondering what kind of sources counts as a discrete source.
got it! thanks!
I have a few questions and I’m not sure if these has already been asked, but:
- For posting impressions and reviews, do we post in the designated thread of said headphone or do we create a new thread to do so?
- If we are to post in the designated thread, do we create a new thread for a headphone that does not have a designated thread for them yet?
- How does a core team member know when someone has posted impressions/reviews that would count towards this program? Do we let a core member know? - If so, it feels a little weird saying, “Hey, one point for me please,” but if that’s how it works, then I guess that’s just how it do.
I am interested in being a part of this once things have calmed down.
Yes, post in the main thread.
Yes, create a thread only if one doesn’t exist.
Shoot @taronlissimore, Torq, or another mod an FYI about your review and eligibilty.
