Headphone Stands

That is one fine looking stand! Love the shape and hue of the wood. But you really need a ZMF hanging on that stand…

Thank You Eric.I handcrafted it myself. I have other models as well. ZMF are cool but they are to pricey for me. Definitely the wooden parts of the headphone will match nicely with a wooden stand or a hanger.

Congrats man, that’s amazing craftsmanship. If you ever start selling them count me in!

Not sure if the poor stand could handle the weight of a ZMF

Thank you. I actually made an Etsy shop ( grainacoustics ) not so long ago, and I have a couple of other models for sale.

I make the stand of dry and hard walnut but yes; the design has its limitations and makes it suitable for lighter headphones. I tested it with 1 kg weight and seemed ok, but it is more stylish piece of art (art is subjective thing  ) It weights 287 gr. I can make it heftier, but then it is going to lose its elegance, or not. I have to try.

i couldn’t help myself, thanks for the new stand! i snagged it from etsy

how resistant to soiling is it? I have a few wood headphone stands and the one issue i tend to have is the oil from the headphone band soaks into the wood and soils/discolors it. i’ve had to refinish two stands now because of it :frowning: i find sanding the wood down with 400 grit until the soiling is gone, then smoothing it over with 1000 grit works well. then i apply a few applications of osmo polyx oil. that stuff is great at preventing soiling. think i’ll have the same issue with yours? i saw on the site you use natural oil, not chemicals to finish it. do you think i should apply some polyx to at least the area that will contact the headband? or leave it alone?

EDIT - Forgot to add I’m definitely going to torture test that baby with my fat butt ZMFs haha! Hey, beautiful wood headphones belong on beautiful wood stands!

After being in the headphone game for 14 years, I thought it was finally time to get a headphone stand.

Before you point out the cheapo Koss ESP/95X, don’t knock it 'til you’ve tried it - especially when being fed signal from kilobuck DACs and tube preamps!

There were a few extra figurines included, and a guitar pick for some odd reason?

Not pictured: the absolutely obscene amount of bubble wrap used to safely transport this monstrosity from Canada to Australia!

Thank You, Eric. This is my first sale as a woodcraft person. I am really into cinematography and video work but trying forgotten woodworking skills. I don’t know if there will be darkening of the wood out of the headband, but you can try applying Osmo on the backside of the footplate without sanding and see how it reacts with the natural oil, or will it change the matt finish to glossy.

These look nice. I’m going to start saying that you run a “crooked business.” In a good way.
