I’m around until tomorrow afternoon if anyone happens to be at NAMM (or near Anaheim) and wants to grab a coffee.
By the way. It feels great to escape the winter that decided to show up in Vancouver. Even if only for a day.

At first I was like “Palm trees in Vancouver?! The environment really has gone to crap.”
But then I drank more coffee.
Enjoy the sunshine!
I just happen to reside in Los Angeles. A quick jaunt down to Anaheim for some coffee sounds good.
We actually had some rain last night!
My guess is that photo was taken in Huntington Beach.
Looking forward to hearing about what you saw at NAMM @andrew!
Great! I’ll send you a pm so we don’t bore everyone with logistics.
I arrived during the storm last night and got to my hotel (in Huntington Beach) at 2:30am. Photo taken in front of the Philz Coffee in one of those public adarondack chairs.
I recognized the view. I drive down that strip of PCH from time to time. On clear days Catalina looks within reach.
I do love our California coast.
So far the best thing I’ve seen is the new Steve Vai signature model. It’s all my synthwave dreams come to life.
Love to hear / see some of your highlights @andrew!
Just had a great (and rushed) dinner and whiskey with @ValentineLuke on the way to LAX. Now back to slushfest 2020 in Vancouver
By the way. NAMM was great, but it is an anarchic sea of noise and humanity.
Here is a picture of the line for an escalator. There were so many people that they had a man telling us what side of the escalator to stand on to safely distribute weight.
In L.A. it’s referred to as “Runnin’ and Gunnin’”, or “Gorilla Style”!
Good times and a pleasure to meet @andrew and hang for a bit. Looking forward to the next time you’re in L.A.
@andrew - Instantly recognized that stretch of PCH! I used to live in HB and work in an agency across the street from the pier (right edge of your photo). Didn’t have a Philz back then. Wish I’d gone up there for NAMM now - had to go camping for the weekend. How was it?
It’s an amazing show. I feel for the headphone brands though. Etymotic for example was pretty close to the Zildjian cymbal booth with an army of people “testing“ the cymbals. I guess it’s a good test of the Etymotic nose isolation.
Overall, not a great atmosphere to demo headphones. Definitely a cool show to check out as a music fan though.
I wish there was some kind of Get Smart - like “Cone of Silence” for shows for each exhibitor so you could hear headphones in a better environment.
