I agree getting your children involved in audio or music is pretty special.

She has to learn about cool vinyl covers and special editions. Music Direct is out of it right now, but p-funk’s Mothership Connection has a 3D cover that’s awesome, and of course there is the Pink anniversary edition of Mancini’s Pink Panther.
I’ve got the original Stone’s 3D Santanic Majesties, but have not seen in in 3D for many years.
We vinyl purists do not fall for these gimmick editions (but secretly buy them because we must have them all).
Keep the quips comin
Oh dang. My internal editor is on the the blink.
But seriously, the first year or two of release the album cover has a 3D picture on it. Then the packagers cheaped out. I found mine in a cutout bin (remember those?) about two years after release.
Oh gotcha. Great cutout bin find. Tower Records, Amoeba, and Virgin were the main music stores in my parts.
I have to admit my daughter is quite the minimalist and that is so not me (<-- hoarder). I bought her a rainbow vinyl “special edition” of some artist she liked (can’t even remember who it was… maybe Amy Winehouse). Conversation went something like this:
Me: “Look what I got you! It is a special edition rainbow vinyl version!”
Daughter: “Oh, but I already have that album.”
Me: “Yeah but it is rainbow vinyl!”
Daughter: “Does it have different songs on it?”
Me: “No, but it is rainbow vinyl!”
Daughter: “Does it sound different?”
Me: “No, but it is rainbow vinyl!”
Daughter: “Is the cover the same?”
Me: “Well, yeah but it has this gold sticker on the shrink wrap saying it is a special edition rainbow vinyl.”
Daughter: “Thank you daddy, but I don’t need two of the same album.”
I died a little inside that day.
This amused. One day she’ll likely value/appreciate.
Until then, this might be how she recounts the exchange to her community
Hey Happy Cake Day @MartinTransporter.
thank you Paul!!

That’s actually what got me back into this world. My son is into vinyl. I was looking at turntables with him and that little itch got a whole lot itchier.
Awesome, that itch trigger is as good as any. Listening to certain songs take me back to childhood memories like going through my dad’s music collection, his gear, and joining him at band jam sessions. Music!
Yeah, I know what you mean. My mom was a big Patsy Cline fan, every time I hear her, it takes me back to my childhood.
Nice. They say smell triggers memories more so than the other senses (science supports this), but I’d say sound and music are right up there.
Hi @Precogvision and @netforce!
Hi Hi Ant! Thanks for the welcome post!
Also, hello @Rush! Finally you’ve come to your senses.
Welcome @netforce. Looking forward to the memes!
Hey! I remember meeting some of you guys at Canjam 2019. You were all extremely nice and easy going.
