Hello and welcome @Simmons, @Chill_ill and @HO_Tam.
Thanks @prfallon69 !
Greetings all,
Audio is one of my many hobbies. It just happened to be the one I focused on over the past few months of working from home. I frequented the Hifi Guides forums before this. Headphones are my focus so guess thatās why Iām here. I also do some DIY so thatās fun.
My current favorite headphone is the Verite Closed.
Anyhow, glad to be here.
Welcome in one of the most beautiful places when it comes to audio.
Hello and welcome @krack.
I thought I would finally spend the time to do a bit of an intro.
I have been a closet audiophile most of my life. I go on these kicks where spend a bunch of time putting together a system I like, then donāt really think about it for a while. A few months ago, I started on headphones for the first time. This lead to IEMs, and that is where I will likely stay for a while.
I value practicality and value above raw sound. I landed on IEMs because there was no way I could get over ears I liked to be comfortably mobile enough to make them worth it. I needed to be able to put something on and not really think about it. And finally, I liked the sound of the first IEM I purchased (Blessing 2 dusk) so much that I jumped to an upgrade almost immediately (Dunu Zen). With headphones, I found the more I spent, the less happy I was with the results.
As of now, I am looking for the ideal user experience for source system using my Dunu Zen. The Fiio BTR5, is ok, but wiring it is less than ideal, and I am starting to explore source quality that goes beyond bluetooth AAC. So I am exploring amps and daps that work really well in the apple ecosystem.
I have posted a few posts about my journey here already. There will be more.
Happy to be here!
Welcome @Dynamic and enjoy
Thanks for the welcome folks.
Missed it since Iāve been out for a bit, but much appreciated! Happy to be here
Hello and welcome @joy, @Faky_Fakerson and @Trtropop.
Welcome to this weeks new members, Enjoy
Hello headphone forum members. I got into audiophilia a long time ago - after I built my first couple computers, I watched LinusTechTips videos about what peripherals to buy and I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD518s probably 6-7 years ago. Combine that with a deep passion for classical music (iām a pianist & orchestral trombonist), and music of all kinds and here I am.
Also as a motorcyclist & firearms enthusiast, Iām very interested in keeping my hearing healthy. I was glad to see that this forum has a section to discuss that.
I currently own:
-Sennheiser HD518
-Klipsch R15PM
-iFi Hip Dac
-Fiio FA7s
-Sony XM4s
Not a bad collection I think, for a college student on a somewhat tight budget. I am in dire need of a new DAC/AMP however because the hip dac has some issues that probably arise from the fact that Iām using it exclusively as a desktop unit to power both my pair of Klipsch monitors and headphones & I use equalizerAPO settings that are probably too bass heavy for that little guy. Iām thinking around $300-$400. Any suggestions?
Welcome to the forum @james . Since you have a deep passion for classical music, please stop by the Classical Music thread sometime. That thread tends to have bouts of frantic activity followed by periods of silence (presumably while weāre listening to the music instead of chatting about it), but maybe youāll wake us all up.
Why donāt you post your question about DAC and amp upgrade suggestions in the General Purchase Advice thread so that the introduction thread doesnāt get bogged down in questions and answers about a new DAC/Amp. Just copy and paste your setup and question into a new post in that thread.
Hello and welcome @james, @manicheus, @enricoxt1631, @TheFountainH3d and @Elixir_Mixer.
Welcome to all new members of the week.
I know itās more at 544$ but I can recommend Burson Playmate 2. I am testing it right now.
Maybe you can find a used unit?
I believe it fulfills all your needs.
Will post some impressions in a couple of daysā¦
Thank you! Extremely happy I found this place.
Hello, just realized I havenāt introduced myself. Iām from Indonesia and Iāve been in this hobby for about five years. Looking forward to participate more in this forum. Glad to be here
Welcome to all of the new members since my last post in this thread!
I hope you all enjoy this great place!
