These are awesome open air type headphones, for the price they are fabulous!! Several friends bought them and love these little guysā¦uncannily great!!
Iāve been a member for over a year but hadnāt posted in this thread before, so here goesā¦
Iām a software engineer from the San Francisco Bay Area. I like many genres of music including electronica, rock, and classical.
Work: Mac (mostly streaming) => SDAC + Liquid Carbon X => Focal Elegia (custom balanced cable)
Home: PC (DSD rips and streaming) => Chord Hugo 2 => Focal Utopia
I also record concerts as a hobby. Hereās a recent one (Mozart): https://youtu.be/6lpo56zBvxI
and a fun one by Shostakovich: https://youtu.be/F3XxjjLpAeo
I try my best to get a good sound. Do we have any other recording engineers here?
Ok, last one: this one of 650 performers! https://youtu.be/prn0Y04Cisk
What elseā¦ well I like getting into why and how things work. Especially when it comes to Hi Res audio. Itās a subject rich with engineering marvels.
Cheers,
Henrik
I probably should properly introduce myself as well.
My name is Jeremy
I have been into audio for as long as I can remember, started with home theater and now includes 2-channel audio and headphones.
My other lifelong passion is aviation, as I used to fly.
I listen to several different types of music with classic rock being my preferred genre.
I have been very fortunate to be able to have a very nice home theater and 2-channel setup. I am currently āworkingā on my headphone setup.
I live in the Central Coast (Monterey Bay Area) of California.
Work wise, I used to work but, unfortunately I have a debilitating autoimmune disease, that prevents me from working(or doing pretty much anything else) I can definitely āfeelā for any other members here who suffer from a debilitating condition. As they are life altering.
I have a wonderful wife, who ātoleratesā my audio passion, she doesnāt āget itā but is supportive of it. I have tried āin veinā numerous times to help her understand it and the āfunā of audio, though it is not her forte.
You live in my most favorite location (see off-topic photography thread)!
Sorry to hear about your health issues, without going into detail I can relate. Welcome to the forum and the world of headphones and all their glory. Iāll keep you in prayer.
Welcome @hnordberg and @jb77.
I am lucky as it is a beautiful area, I checked out that thread earlier, amazing pictures all of you have posted there, Carmel is a beautiful area.
I appreciate that, Thank You. Iāll keep you in prayers as well, I hope your condition will improve with time.
We drive down to Monterey every now and then. Love it there. We live up by Mt Diablo in Walnut Creek.
familiar with the overall area though I have not been up that way in years. I live in Salinas.
Welcome @hnordberg!
Welcome @jb77!
Hello and welcome @jb77 and @hnordberg. I too can relate with your health issues and I wish you all the best for the future. Music and my headphone passion is always a pick me up.
Thank you @prfallon69
Audio is one of my āescapesā as it helps sometimes, it is ādifficultā dealing with my condition(as I know it is for everyone dealing with a disability), especially being as debilitating as mine currently is. I really miss the Simple things like going to work, out to eat, going to the movies etc. all of these are things I am no longer able to do.
I wish you the best, in dealing with your health issues.
Jeremy
Late welcomes to @hnordberg ! I have spent a lot of time in Walnut Creek for work and friends. Nice town in the East Bay. Nice gear you have and nice quality videos!
Also welcome @jb77! I hope audio and other escapes help with your health issues as well as the others on this forum. I love aviation as well, however Iām more on the engineering side of things than actually flying. Iām too scared to fly a plane myself! But Iāve worked on planes and other aero vehicles my entire career (15 years now!).
is this your subtle way of telling us youāre a rocket scientist?
