My "Portable " set-up… Enjoying the heck out of the HP-2s’
New source! Denafrips Pontus II with Iris DDC. Getting used to the “more of everything” sound which is quite a lot easier than getting used to the look of that black wall.
Nice, but not quite portable though
true wrong chat indeed.
Mea maxima culpa
That’s not the Light Harmonic Stella earphones, are they?
I think you are showing a clear lack of dedication here
Small footprint enough for me.
Poor man’s DAP: Samsung Galaxy A13 LTE + FiiO Q3. A ton of power and battery life.
Current portable rig (not sure if posted here):
ATH-M40x headphones (Brainwavz Angled pads)
Radsone ES100 (mounted via 3M interlocking tape)
Cardas wire
Phone (Samsung S20 or LG V40)
With Samsung S20 I really only get AptX but since most of my files/streaming from portable sources are lossy, it doesn’t really matter.
Nice creative combo with the ES100! I don’t see many people rocking it short cable style.
Thanks, I stole that design from someone on Head-Fi.
Although this remains a work in progress, I shlepped my silly new audio rack from AZ to CANJAM SoCal:
The “rack” is an Inovativ Deploy portable workstation rated for 600lbs with 20" rear tires; it’s designed for taking sound rigs, etc., on location to film and TV shoots, wherever they may be. Hence, “portable.” [Insert Dr. Evil air quotes meme]
My Ampsandsound Nautilus was the main star of this setup. Also shown here is my old Monster 5100 mkii power conditioner. I had attempted to source a more capable Furman, but it fell through at the last minute.
I borrowed various DACs for the weekend. I have May at home, but didn’t want to go through the hassle of disconnecting it for the show. Cayin N8ii was quite nice as a USB DAC source with Caldera and Expanse. We were using a Bricasti M1 in the first image above.
The screen is a 55" LG OLED that we used as a Roon display in conjunction with a Google Chromecast. That worked out nicely when several of us passed around Caldera; those not listening could still follow along and participate in the experience while waiting their turn.
The whole stack is Roon enabled (R.O.C.K. core is sitting on the desktop in the first image). Since Pis have gotten scarce, I picked up an ASUS Celeron laptop for $99 to use as an endpoint. Even better that it has a keyboard and screen for search.
Special thanks to Cardas for the free t-shirt and bold inspiration at CANJAM SoCal 2021.
I was slightly mad i missed out on this shirt as yhe self crowned king of portable last year, but i think the crown pass was to a worth sucessor
Nice to see another BTR7 user here!
Do your a12t sound a lot darker than the u12t? sound like more bass less treble right? I want to pickup one during this Black Friday week but can’t make up my mind which to get. I’ve heard u12t before, really love it and prefer to keep this sound. If the a12t sound similar enough I would shoot for it to fit my ears. I would imagine because of the different material and different fit they would sound different but im not sure to which extend
