Schiit Mjolnir 3

Yes, you’re going to be very toasty with all that!

Too bad you didn’t already get it, given how cold it’s been. :-1:

I received an invoice from Schiit this morning so hopefully the ship it out later today or early tomorrow for a Tuesday delivery - I’m out of the office on Monday.

Regards,
Vic

Quick update: It shipped on Tuesday from the California location so the scheduled delivery day is this Friday.

I got back from vacation on the 13th. It says paid on the order, but alas not shipped. Made an inquiry Yesterday but no response At this point I guess I’ll get it when I get it.

Mine is in production as well. I did reach out few days ago and got an e-mail saying they have sourcing issue and will ship it out in a week or so. I am hopeful, it will be coming week.

Has anyone here tried the MJ3 with the Yggdrasil LiM dac? I just cannot find anyone aside from one review on SBAF who has tried this combo. He indicated it was not optimal. I have a LiM dac, currently running it with a GSX Mini amp. Sounds freakin’ beautiful too. Really would like to hear someone talk about the synergy between the LiM and the MJ3.

I’ve been realizing just what a “no feedback full class A amp” really means.
Recently ive been getting some light crackling in the left channel. The issue goes away in push pull mode, and seem intermittent with either nothing, light crackling, or small “waves” almost of noise. It seems either gone or much less when music is playing.

At first i was concerned i had a unit issue. But after some trouble shooting and a few days of trying different things, ive come to learn this appears to be a mixed issue of both static electricity, and just general interference.

I keep my hifi stuff on a seperate rack, but had some other cables from my PC crossing behind the rack and around my hifi wires. Moving these did more for my sound than id like to admit…
Also, i notice that when im wearing any stretchy material ( it is winter and quite dry) it generates enough static to hear hum when i touch my headphones (MM-500 does have a metal chassis), and occasionally shock me when touching the volume knob.

So after moving the PC cables, getting a humidifier, and wearing mostly just Cotton, the problem seems to be about fixed! Back to listening to my favorite piece of gear.

Either way, lesson learned. Sometimes the upgrade isnt juat the gear your listening to.

You can get rid of the static by hosing down the floor in your listening area. About 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water should be enough. Rubbing bear grease over your body will cut static also, even when wearing stretch stuff.

Well that was a little uncalled for. Just sharing my experience bud

Humor is always called for. If it seems off in this forum, you need to check that both legs are attached. I’ve been working through wet basement issues.

And I’m a Schiit fanboy.

Further, had a months long static and hum issue with Audeze LCDi3 and LCDi4 IEMs that only got solved by using battery power. So I feel for you.
