I made this post on another site:

I am sure Schitt is listening…

…and I got a “like” from Jason Stoddard…stay tuned!

If that wood puzzle is of the kind I think it is, it is a lot of solid state enjoyment.
Great eye. I picked it up at a winter holiday market in Annecy last year. Loads of enjoyment - by the wine barrel.
Wait, Jason is in these forums?
I havent seen jason in this forum…my reference to the like was in another forum…
Alex
Yes, Jason has an account here… not sure he is super active though =)
I am just waiting for Schiit to come out with a matching amp for the Modius…hmmmm.
Magnius! Or would it be Heresius? Maybe Asgamagniersius?
Assuming no remote / ability for remote?
Yea no remote capability, would be neat though!
I have a modius coming in… still waiting on it to ship. Can’t wait to compare it to the modi 3, not sure if I’m experienced enough to tell the difference but hey… its a new toy and I like the look of it
Great choice. It has been hard avoiding to pull some triggers lately.
You’ll be my hero if you do.
My Modi 3/Magni 3+ combo has been in the drawer for the past 2 weeks now. I’ve been using a Focusrite out to feed a small Liquid Spark. About time to check if I can notice any sound difference with the Schiit stack. I have been failing hard to A/B them every time I tried.
New member here but Hi-Fi enthusiasts for over 50 years. Took delivery on a Modius last week. I own a Bifrost multibit and Modi multibit and have owned a Modi 3 and Bifrost 4490. I use a a Bellari HA540 MK2 with a smooth plate Telefunken and a Schiit Magni 3+ too mix things up. Once the Modius arrived I decided to order a Rupert Neve headphone amp so I could use the balanced outputs on the Modius. That was delivered today and I’m doing a little listening and letting it play. I’m a physical medium person so I’m using my older Marantz CD5003 as a transport for my headphone setup. I grew up with records and still play them too.
I really like the Modius, more than the Modi 3 or Bifrost 4490. I need to spend more time with Modius and Neve headphone amp but so far I’m really enjoying it.
Welcome @ssmith3046 and hope you enjoy the Modius, just recieved mine yesterday with an AAA 887. I’m not an eco-freak but monoprice can tone it down with how much packaging the 887 came with vs the Modius(see picture). I’m waiting on my Focal Stellia to arrive and really stretch the legs on the Modius and plan on doing an extensive write-up after spending a little bit more time with the full setup.
Initial impression so far: Balanced out with the 887 into some HD700s and playing some Tidal MQAs through my Phone/PC have been great. To me, the Modius nails the balance between sharp detail retreival and separation while having just enough honeyed tonality found in other AKM based DACS to not make it harsh. The HD700 are pretty clinical and I want to try the Stellia to compare but so far I am really happy with the sound.
Will followup with more after spending more time with the Modius.
Looking forward to reading more.
From what I know they are selling both about the same or equal…
Schitt Thunderdome philosphy is what sells stays, regardless of specs.
This and Hersey is a shot across the bow for ASR and others that put value on specs and measurments.
We all win…good stuff, great warranty, made in the USA etc…
Alex
Yea Modius looks amazing on paper, so much I order one too to hear it for my self!
The Modius also acts as a demonstration of Schiit’s engineering prowess.
Consumers demand über measurements and Schiit shrugs and says “sure, we can do that…and we’ll make them in the USA, too.”
And not $800…$1-9-9
This is a new wrapper on the cheap American muscle car formula. One could spend $100K to $300K on a Porsche or Ferrari, or $50K on a Mustang that’s ‘just as fast in a straight line.’ The $200 Modius does straight-line DAC performance just fine (per measurements), and effectively matches the $1,100 RME ADI-2 fs as a DAC. Just without the fancy additional features.
