Garlic songs are hard to find.
This one does nicely.
I will never understand people who read stuff here, and then send me PMs on Head-Fi about it …
Bahahaha…as I like to say “one man’s common sense is anothers insanity” ~ me
But seriously that is hilarious!!
I will also never understand the Craigslist/Head-Fi types that send you an “Is XYZ still available?!” message, only to never respond when you say “Yes, it is.”
Nibblers. They either want the world’s best deal or don’t quite want to buy it. My guess is these are the same people who spend $100 per month to store $1,000 of equipment for a year in a mini-store unit.
@Torq now holds the world record for fastest “Heart” – one second at most!
You’re almost certainly right.
I can’t figure out why they never follow up with a “will you take XYZ for ABC” message though. That’d make sense to me. But maybe I’m trying to apply common sense and logic where it clearly doesn’t apply!
That one was a bit slower!
It depends on the item you are selling. I posted my old flat panel TV on Craig’s List and could have sold it a dozen times in a week. I posted musical instruments and got lots and lots of nibbles but they took several weeks to a few months to sell. Audio seems to fall in the “less necessary” category than TVs for most people.
I am starting to think that it is going to take something else absolutely staggering to get me really excited over new audio products since buying the SR1a. Merely “excellent” or even “a little bit too shy of damn-near-perfect” seems “not to be doing it for me” right now.
Get yourself a pair of Wilson Audio Alexias.

Whoa, those look too similar to Daleks for comfort!
They will exterminate your audio blues. And your wallet. And these are just the upper midrange of the line. If you ever get the chance, find a dealer for Wilson’s and give a listen.
But it would be very tempting to put some round bumpy thingys about their waistlines
I found another way to exterminate my “audio blues” (because I suffer there so much …) … since I won’t buy Wilson until I’m back in a house that’ll support a dedicated music room worthy of the Alexandria XLF (and the WAMM if they’re still available then) …
And that’s, this …
Local dealer has one, already negotiated a fabulous price … and the only tempting headphones right now are either 4+ weeks out, or technically already spoken for …
What ever shall I do?!
For anyone interested in a little bit more background, Andrew did an interview with Shopify Masters about Headphones.com for a podcast.
They were nice enough to type out the whole transcript as well if you would rather read it through instead of listening.
Great read! Very cool story! Now to take this knowledge and become a …I mean…nothing to see here! Move along!..
Jokes aside, Austin for the win! Love that city!
I am designing some webshops with shopify and your pages have been a great inspiration.
Amazing! Great read over coffee this morning. Well done, @andrew!
This is a “common” off-topic subject for me, but I still don’t get the various “buyers” behavior on Head-Fi, Craigslist, or wherever …
I am 100% convinced they only read the product name and everything else one puts in the listing is completely ignored/invisible.
"Is XYZ still available?"
No, as the listing body and title clearly states, it was “SOLD” (five days ago).
"Will you ship it to India?"
No, as that isn’t in the US, per the restrictions in the listing.
"Will you trade it for ABC, DEF and XYZ cheaper, somewhat broken, incomplete items?"
No, as I clearly said “no trades”.
Maybe I should have said “No trades; especially not for lower-end, broken, or junk items.”.
"Will you sell it for 50% of your already aggressive price because my [random relative] has terminal constipation and this is somehow something I think you should give me a discount for?"
No, because it clearly says “price is firm” and you’re evidently an illiterate twat with misplace ideas about social responsibility.
No point to this post other than spleen-venting …
