Thanks for letting me know. I know a few others have had problems too. It does seem to be sorted now though.

You had me at “wood”.

Wait, that sounds wrong. Not like that. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Just got done with Trick or Treat night here - it had been postponed by 60 mph winds, rain, and Tornado Watch, making it perilous for little witches to try out their Made in China Ultra Cheap Broomsticks.

Will visit my parent’s place tomorrow, where it was decided to defer Trick or Treat night to Saturday. I didn’t dress up personally, although I frequently greet the kids wearing a conehead. I wanted to dress as an Arsenal striker, but was afraid that a short, 65 year old tubby man couldn’t pull it off, even with the help of hair extensions.

I would have enjoyed the attempt.

Man, I was bummed when he left Dortmund. I know I would never be able to pull off that look, at least not without losing a LOT of weight.

And gaining height

In my usual “not-really-off-topic” vein …

I sit on the precipice of either adding a significant extra element to my reviews (namely high-precision measurements for everything I review) or saying “sod it”, finishing out my “review queue”, and sailing off into the sunset …

The dichotomy between “cool new toy” and “just enjoy the music” is surprisingly conflicting!

Well, I’m conflicted on wanting you to “sail off into the sunset” as I think you would really enjoy it! And the selfish part of me that would want you to get the new toy to continue playing in this hobby! (Though I think you would probably enjoy both equally lol).

Thinking on this some more, I have a sinking suspicion you might end up flipping that coin only for it to land balanced on its side lol. I.E. finding a balance between the two options

Measurements are nice and all, but I vote sail off and enjoy.

Measurements used to guide my decisions, but now my ears do. I rarely look at graphs and charts anymore, and I never buy without hearing things first.

Knowing how a reviewer’s preferences align with your own is far more valuable than looking at some graphs. This is especially true when you consider how much graphs don’t tell you. It’s doubly especially true given how different each measurement rig and measurement method can be from one reviewer to another.

Exactly!! But, it would be nice to have a measuring type “I” would trust =)

But also, only if Torq is still having fun doing it =)

this sailing thing sounds good - who needs graphs?
keep it fun

with the best measurements on the planet this forum will explode - all strange people would come over
think this could could kill the friendly vibes here

If anyone/group of people could maintain the openness and great approach to this forum it’s all of us current members! I think also I have faith that @Torq if he so chose, would be a great herald for measurements! Plus I trust him more than others, plus he would have the knowledge to do it properly, or as properly as one could without spending 100s of thousands of dollars on scientific gear and hiring engineers and scientist to properly verify findings lol…

I meant exactly what you wrote - of course trustworthy, like no one else - you guys even know each other from different meat ups
and from what I read, he knows how such things have to be done the correct (can be reproduced, etc.) way
I can see him enjoying this kind of work - what should be highest prio

did not learn more from anyone else - he could make it understandable like he managed with other complex issues (hope it is the right word)

find it strange to write about “him” in third person - sorry for my bad english

Well, my interest in the “big” analyzer just waned significantly … on account of it being tied to Windows-only software …

Some of you already know but for those who don’t I was just on vacation in Anaheim for two weeks. I’ve always wanted to do Disneyland and Universal Studios for Halloween time and finally got the chance! Was a great trip, relaxing and the weather never dropped below 25 celsius so it was a nice change from the Vancouver weather!

One of the best parts of the trip though was checking out the new Star Wars land in Disney called “Galaxy’s Edge”. During the day it was super neat but at nighttime it’s simply a spectacular experience.

The Millennium Falcon ride isn’t the greatest ride but the land itself is very, very cool especially if you’re a Star Wars fan. There are some great (but expensive) things to do there like building your own lightsaber, droid as well as a Cantina-like bar.

Also since it was Halloween, they had a giant cutout of Oogie Boogie above California Adventure that looked amazing.

Overall fantastic trip but ridiculously expensive. Anyone waiting for replies from me I am now back and will be getting to them soon!
