I do have one in my EP collection but that is a 21mm Ethos.
Both similar weight pieces but the Holy Hand Grenade is a bit wider looking. Both are a good handful.

I looked up the photos, and kind of knew that before asking. But, I had to write “Holy Hand Grenade.” I live in a very light-dirty area and can’t do anything serious – but have a decent spotting scope.

Very nice. I had a 125MM refractor and a 4’ reflector at one time. A friend had a 10 inch Celestron which was a very nice instrument. I’d think that this event would be good even with binoculars or an RFT scope.
Back in college if you took intro Astronomy, you got to use one of the 16 inch Celestrons, very cool.

Light pollution sucks but people are starting to become more aware of it. Can still do lunar, planetary, and some star related viewing but lesser magnitude stuff like nebula are more difficult.
Whatever gets you out there, binocular astronomy is a lot of fun especially if you can get to a dark sky, I have always stuck to refractors as they are less maintenance. I have 4 of them in total but the above pic is my largest, anything bigger starts to become cumbersome to handle and really really expensive.

This is good to hear. I’ve long wanted to learn more about astronomy but with living in the NYC metro area this past decade I’d assumed, incorrectly, that it would be pointless. A year ago I found out that there’s an Amateur Astronomers Club here, and until the pandemic hit, I’d hoped to get involved. Maybe next year!
If it’s cloudy tomorrow where you guys are - and if it’s clear here - they’ll be live-streaming the conjunction on youtube and facebook (see here).

I found pictures of these two headphones, and I’m quite curious what models and companies they are from.
The first one is particularly mysterious because it looks like the old Sonus Faber Pryma headphones, but I am highly positive that it is not
Similar story for the second pair:
If someone can help ID these headphones, I’d greatly appreciate it!

The top set are one of the Ultrasone Edition 8 series, the bottom Audeze EL-8.

Would’ve never guessed that the first set is from Ultrasone…
The 2nd one did remind me of an Audeze model, but it didn’t have their logo on the grill, so I was put off.
