I ended up getting a GMMK White Ice (see post below). If you are interested in the same keyboard, I recommend getting the white one because for some reason, it has a few upgrades that they haven’t included in the black model. I’m guessing that have a large inventory of the black keyboards that they want to get rid of before they start selling the upgraded version.
I’m also not a gamer, and I like it for typing. The keyboard comes with Gateron Brown switches, which I think are close to the Topre 45g. The browns are fine, but I’m a firm (lead fingered) typist, and I think I would prefer a “heavier” switch than brown, so I also ordered some Glorious Panda switches, which I’ll try out next week. The advantage of the GMMK keyboard over the one in your link is that it’s hot swappable, so I can easily change the switches without a soldering iron.
As you can see in the picture in my post, the LED strength is very good - very bright in the dark, and bright enough to color the keys if the room lights are on. The keys are ABS double injection, which is good enough for me now, and easily changed in the future. I actually canceled an order of replacement keycaps because I like the look of the stock ones, with the LEDs shining through the letters.

@BondDaBoom I haven’t heard of that track. I live and grew up in a small town in south east Connecticut, right on the RI border. My dad primarily raced in CT, MA, and Upstate NY. Although one year he did a tour in the South when he was considering going big time. This was in the early 60s. He, my mom and my oldest sister (the only child at the time) raced all over the place for a month. They actually hooked up with Richard Petty as Kyle and my sister were both very young and would play together. So that was big for him. Then they found out another kid was on the way, and he decided to stick to his day job.

God help me. I think I’m starting to collect bolo ties. I started wearing western cut shirts not that long ago. They were popular when I came of age. Just ordered a nice turquoise set in silver bolo. Makes tie number four.
I must be channeling my inner Kinky Friedman.

Growing up in Nevada during the 70’s… I’m quite familiar with turquoise bolos and western cut shirts but Kinky Friedman I hadn’t heard of. A quick glance at his song titles was good for a chuckle.

Back in the days when such things mattered - I had hair, was slim and single - I had a couple of awesome western shirts.
One was a nice, bright green shirt with rhinestones. Friends called me the “Spearmint Cowboy” when I wore it. I wore it out (the shirt and the nickname). The other survives and is a fantastic white western shirt with snap buttons and, best of all, three thin, parallel lines of highlighter green, pink, and yellow stitching (which you only notice up close). It’s pretty cool even if I’m too big around the middle to wear this shirt these days.
I still need to get the brontosaurus-foreskin boots (as per Kinky Friedman).

I’m making do with calfskin, and a lizard belt. Going to be ordering a pair of lizard boots and another belt sometime soon. One of the blessings of Covid response is that there has been a loosening of dress code.
