@ProfFalkin so thoughts on your new toy? How is it with ZMF cans? It is a looker for sure! Can you still order these? I assume it is a by order type of deal, based on research
It pairs amazingly well with Auteur and Verite. I plan on trying Eikon tonight. It made me reevaluate my earpad preference on each headphone to dial in the stage and treble/bass presence for each. I was up until 2:15am on Saturday going into Sunday, completely unintentionally. I just got lost in the tunes. It does seem that I listen to music a little louder on this amp than I normally would on others. There gets to a point in the volume on most amps where discomfort creeps in. I’m sure you’ve heard it - the sound starts to get fatiguing quick, or something in the treble pokes you wrong, or sometimes the bass just wears you down… that kind of things. The 3F seems to reward slightly higher volumes by presenting better detail and resolution as you creep above normal listening levels, but the cons listed above don’t set in anywhere near as fast. Last time I measured on my Black Widow 2, my long term comfort listening level was about 76dB. I haven’t tested the 3F, but I’m betting it’s in the 80-85 range.
Yes, you can still order them. Ordering can be done by emailing Doug. I think the email is on his ECPAudio.com site. He said there will be a second, and probably a third wave of orders he will build out. A non-refundable deposit is collected, he buys the parts and then builds your amp based on your choice of wood and OPT, and then will send an invoice for the final amount when complete. I ordered mine on Feb 20, and got it May 3, so expect around a 3 month turnaround time. Doug also sent several status updates during the process, so communication was excellent.

Technically, they’re violet. They look kind of blue in that soft yellow lighting in the photo, but under normal whiter lighting conditions, they are definitely purple/violet colored.

Indeed I got it (u16) yesterday 
At first it sounded weird (well, not entirely bad but discernibly hollow and rounded) out of the box. And it only accepted 32 bit signal. Even worse, the unit occasionally stopped and rebooted. All these were resolved after installing a proper driver though.
By the way neither Schiit Fulla 2 nor Topping DX3 Pro on the unit is fed from u16. U16 is currently feeding my main dac (not shown in pic). I am planning to hook up to dx3 pro as well later.
