Unfortunately I only have the RS-08 for about a week or so and I do not have a ZMF VC to use. But a review will be out shortly to discuss my experience with the RS-08 with all my other gear that I have available.

Just got the upgraded tubes and WOW what a difference! I was warming up to the amp despite the slight loss of speed/detail, but with the EML 300B tubes and Brima 5Z4G rectifier, the amp is super fast (not quite as fast as straight solid state, but close enough to where I don’t care anymore), and just everything is magical.

Once you hit 300 hr mark on the EML there will be more improvements. If the EML haven’t been used much let them cool down every 3 hrs for few days. This will set them to last longer.

Its nice that the previous owner sent you those tubes and didnt feel like selling them separately.
It took about 2 - 3 weeks for my current tubes to come together properly to a point where I noted a sonic difference from what I initially heard. I stopped paying attention to the technicalities after that so if any more subtle changes occurred I couldnt tell you. Tubes should be given at least 25-50 hours to see what they are truly about. An average tube has a chance to become really good but if you start with a tube that really sounds awful there is probably no reason to hope burn in will fix it.

EML take longer then 50hr min is 100 hr the 300 is the typical.

Wait, there are tubes that take 300 hours for optimal performance?
In what time frame did you notice the most change? Did the first 50 make little impact and you felt it more after that? Just curious?

Which amp did you get that runs 84’s? Did you buy a friend for the T4?
EML is the only brand I know of that does. I’m waiting on my EML 300B 2.5V to fully burn in. I’m hoping my Tung sol 5998 only take 50 hrs. Out of the box both amps sound amazing.
