And I though the DEVA’s cable was bad. Sheesh.
I bought a handful of Adapters and 3 trrs 3.5mm cables from Amazon, what I cobbled together with those beats the living daylights out of HE6Se cable.

The new HE6se is got a lot of bass impact very much like my HE-6 4 screw. It’s hard for me to tell them apart. My set I put on Dekoni pads.
For sure! Haha! Same can be said about the focal elegias cable. It gets a B+ next to these.
Literally anything that isn’t a HiFiMan cable. Amazon $12 el’cheapo cable? Great. LOL
Seriously though, I make my own cables now mostly, but still use and enjoy the Forza and ZMF cables I purchased from before.
This, for example, is a good cable and it doesn’t break the bank:
gets Focal flashbacks of despair
haha yeah, the Focal cables aren’t great either. Thick and stiff as opposed to the HiFiMAN thin and flimsy.
Focal, Norne, and DHC:

oh god oh fug there they are again!!1
Can you link me the pads you got brother? @BondDaBoom
Yeah and spend $3500 on HE1000se or what 6k on the Susvara and you get the same ones… =(
Have had a few hours with them so far, I like them, similar sounding to my HE-560 IMO. Couldn’t get a good seal at first so swapped the pads with the HE-560 which seems to be a bit thicker and firmer. The build quality isn’t so bad too. Here’s the internals I took while swapping pads:

Compared with the HE-560:

Build quality isn’t so bad, I was expecting worse. Feels solid.
Oh, and here are the pads side-by-side. I believe one’s the Focas A pads? Not sure. They’re definitely firmer than the HE6SE (Pali?):

Oh yeah, here’s a pic I took earlier of just the cables:

Back in the box they go… never to see the light of day again.
My son has a nice Guitar repair rig / Soldering station we setup for him, I plan on using it to turn out some cables when I finally get around to it.
In the meantime, for little money I was able to get several quite nice cables & connectors from Amazon which work well enough for now.

Yes they are junk but don’t forget that some people want them and will buy them. I sold some terrible HiFiMan factory cables on Ebay. A heavily used balanced cable sold for $35 plus shipping in about an hour and had several watchers. It probably would have sold for $45 or $50. A 1/4" cable went for $30 plus shipping after several days.
I use a cables from Hart. The same I use for my Elegia. Decent price and I love the system design Hart uses.
Glorious and congrats! You’re running out of moves to make.
Ahhh, a new to you toy!!!
Itll hold me down until Stellaris comes
